Lotta Korn haters in the house.. that's cool..

I just saw them perform this song at the concert 2 nights ago and I have to say it was DAMN GOOD. They didn't change much if anything at all other than the style of singing. Total crowd participation too.

Equally awesome was Linkin Park's cover of "Wish" by Nine Inch Nails.

Korn sucks. So does Limp Bizkit. I have never heard their cover songs. I bet they completely ruined it. I hope I never hear it.

If it's already good... don't try to make it better. You'll just F uck it up worse... the original way is the way it was meant to be heard. The only cover song I like is The Berlin Project's version of Gin and Juice... but that's completely different because that's turning rap into ska... not awesome rock into something I call crap...

Good music is all relative to what a you yourself like. Music isn't a test for which the answers have already been made. There are no right answers.

While I appreciate the thought of you people who are telling us which bands "suck", try to post more about the bands you do like. Or at least why you do not like them.

I myself try to not to go open a thread where the title contains an artist or group I do not care for. If I do, I'll definately offer my opinions as to why they are not my cup of tea.

Anyways.. I'm getting off the soapbox now and take note of the fact that I was not really talking about this thread so much in particular. The first post alerted me that it was not going to be a positive thread. Just some friendly advice from your fellow toker.

i respect any band that has the sack to redo a classic, and pull it off. A few of my favorite "classic" covers include

All Along the Watchtower (Take your pick of bands. I'll take Jimi and U2)
Mrs. Robinson (The Lemonheads)
Killing Me Softly (The Fugees)
Twist & Shout (The Beatles)
California Girls (David Lee Roth)
Pretty Woman (Van Halen)

I'll second that motion, radiohead does a pretty decent cover of wish you were here. Its alot slower I think and they replace the opening guitar with piano which actually sounds really cool. I heard Stabilo Boss (smallish Canadian band from vancouver) play a small free acoustic show last summer and they played wish you were here and it was pretty good.

Limp Bizkit should be shot for covering songs like that. That is ludicrous that a band like them can cover such awesome tunes

Coolguy, I live about 3/4 of a mile away from that venue you were at. If I sit on my deck on a clear day I can usually hear the music fairly clear. On that particular night I was walking in the park and I heard what I considered to be one of the poorer pink floyd covers I have heard, now I know what band it was Different strokes for different folks. It sounded like the crowd was really into the concert though, which makes any concert ten times better.

P.S Had you ever been to that venue before it was bought by Coors? If so, did you notice a change in their general attitude? I remember I used to walk over to the venue on any given night and they'd let me in for free to whoever was playing. No such luck with the new management though
