Default Super-chill music?

i figured-hey, who better than a buncha stoners to consult on music?

I do smoke, but this isn't about that. I don't have a terribly huge knowledge of music, and am looking for great cruising music. not trippy stuff, something you can spark up a salem to and just grove as you roll. My friend always seems to have cool music like postal service, modest mouse, polyphonic sphere (or something like that).

does anyone have any great songs?
(note-MJ lyrics are NOT a requirement. its just gotta be chill and good.)

i saw a buncha threads like this one, but none specifically on this subject.

Lately, my favorite "chill" album is Talkie Walkie by a French duo called Air.

Phish - You Enjoy My Self
Phish - The Divided Sky.

both pretty chill, except the tension release in YEM.

Your friend listens to good music, a lot of indie stuff it sounds like, and thats what i listen to. I highly highly suggest these three, Broken Social Scene, Metric, and Interpol.

Some songs to get by Broken Social Scene:
- Cause = Time
- Stars and Sons
- Almost Crimes
- KC Accidental

Some good songs by Metric:
- Dead Disco
- Hustle Rose
- Combat Baby

Some good songs by Interpol:
- Obstacle 1
- Slow Hands
- PDA
- Obstacle 2

Some good songs by Modest Mouse:
- Worms vs. Birds
- These walls are paper thin
- Float On

Some good songs by Postal Service
- Such Great Heights
- Clark Gable
- The District Sleeps Alone Tonight

If you want the names of some other good bands, just pm me.
