amen bongwater your absolutely right, but some artists signed on indie labels tend to go more towards the emo type genre (the indie label just makes them think their cooler) but at least for me anyone signed on a major label, no matter how rough or emo they sound (i dont really like the typical emo sh*t, i personally think its a waste of time compared to any other genre) but their not indie. but yea all the stuff that was said that ive heard before is pretty cool anyway.

ok im assumin u r all american but british music (at the minute) seems better, (even tho i'm irish) so i'm gonna list a few bands i like at the minute. i'm generally not into new music as such but theres some i like, i'm not the old music purist i once was lol the coral are a band i'd reccommend definitely, so psychedelic and fun and retro and just ****in cool they mightn't have made it in america but theres a band called bloc party that me and my friend always get loaded to and its a brilliant album (silent alarm) it was exceptionally good on off topic fungi hehehealso you should listen to kasabian and gorillaz, the postal service (not british but still good), and probly more that i can't think of apologies if any of these bands are american lol, i wrote the list quickly

If you want trippy music check out Animal Collective, they are the abstract of all music. Start out with the song "Who Could Win A Rabbit" and build up a tolerance for that crazy ****! Also Of Montreal is good, Architecture in Helsinki is also very good, and in a way trippy. The Unicorns also is a pretty good band and I guess they used a program that one of the band members made to create all of their songs so they are "perfect". Once you get bored with those ask for more! Some good songs "Storm "- Godspeed You Black Emperor The Chemical Brothers- "The Private Psychedelic Reel" Those really get your grrrove on ![]()

Try Groove Armada especially the track "Purple Haze". Currently my favorite line: "it all makes sense after the 'shrooms and the Purple Haze". You will not be able to play this song loud enough. For mellow and sometimes odd and haunting: M Ward, Iron & Wine or anything by Nick Drake. P.S. Another vote for The Chemical Brothers.
