What you guys think of this album?

Overall it's a good album, there are a couple club bangers and chick songs but it's Kayne I was expecting them.

I think that Kayne's big-ass head may just be getting bigger after this album, because so far the majority are saying they enjoyed the album and early record sales are good. I can see this selling more than College Dropout.

Some of my favourite tracks:

Gold Digger
Drive Slow
Diamonds from Sierra Leone Remix
We Major (A really good FT with NAS)
Gone

Tell me what you thought of the album, for all those of you that havn't heard it go and buy it now, or send me a PM and I'll hook ya up.

Crazy, i was just about to start a thread on Kanye. Bought his new CD yesterday, pretty solid, although alot slower then his fist cd college drop out. It's a pretty mellow CD, (as mellow as rap can be) but his beats and rhymes are absolutely sick. Secound best rapper alive, next to jigga ofcourse.

Anyone who hasent heard college drop out should go out and buy it now. In the top 5 rap CD's off all time. The first time i heard it, me and my buddy drove out to this lake just outside of town, and sparked a bowl. Then popped in the cd and continued to take a hit at the beginning of every song. theres 20 some songs on that cd. It was a great couple hours...

Kanye is a lyrical genious.

You need to pump your brakes and drive slow homey.

"Drive Slow" has been my car banger as of late.

It's a good follow up album, indeed. I don't think it tops "College Dropout" though.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion but, I would not go so far as labeling as him such. He's definitely one of the best out there in the game right now in terms of lyrics because, at least he's got a mixture of content in his rhymes. This is in comparison to most mainstream artists out there.

Perhaps i'm the only one who thinks this but, I really like "Crack Music" (featuring The Game) and "My Way Home" (featuring Common) - everyone else who i've personally spoken to about the album do not mention these 2 songs.

Kanye is a great producer, but definetly not lyrically talented.

Producer isn't completely the correct term, but essentially what that means is that he makes the instrumentals which he raps over. These are good, I would consider him one of the best at making beats.

However, as a rapper, he isn't anything special at all. Even other people in the mainstream such as Fabolous or Cassidy have more lyrical powress. There is a huge Kanye West bandwagon going on right now which is a double sided coin. He is exposing real hiphop to the masses, but there are still way better rappers to do that job.

If you dig Kanye, grab Common's new CD, Be. It's Kanye beats with Common rapping. Listen to common and youll have an idea of a gifted lyricist.

I'd agree Kayne isn't the best lyrically but he's got flow, the passion for the game and most importantly (for his success in the mainstream) the Roc's money behind him.

^^ Anybody who actually considers Fabolous and Cassidy as hip-hop needs their head checked.

Cassidy..............next, lol.
Fabolous. I'll have to admit, kid's got FLOW for sure.

But, I agree with voltion. They are not Hip-Hop. Common Sense however, is hip-hop. And BE is a great album, no doubt. But, if you haven't already, check out some of his earlier work like "Can I Borrow A Dollar?" or "Ressurection"

I agree, im not into fab or cassidy. Im just saying, some of these people need to check Kanyes lyrics.......cause I know all his singles and his verse on 'They Say' are lyrical garbage.

I really like Cassidy and Fabulous alot. I think they are both really good at rapping and making music. I like alot of Kanyes songs, but I didnt really like Kanyes late registration CD so much.
