| Man, I'm obsessed with these guys. The music is just so amazing, it has gotten to the point where listening to anything else seems almost dull. I love how the music isn't the same repetitive stuff through out the whole song and that the songs are constantly changing and evolving. It kicks ass. I saw them live back in April at the Orpheum theater in New Orleans and it just blew me away. I was like right there 10 yards away just rocking out. Best concert of my life for sure. So, anyways... Do any of you guys like the TMV? ![]() |

| No, I'd never heard of them. I was to young when they were still around. I heard about the TMV from a good friend of mine named Thomas. I became obsessed and eventually got into at the drive-in. Now I like them just as much, the music is just as good even though less experimental. I wish I would have gotten a chane to see at the drive-in before they broke up but hey what can you do? High again! ![]() edit: ^^^ That shit kicks ass! ^^^ |

| I have been a huge Mars Volta fan since the first time I heard Deloused, a few weeks after it came out. I've seen them live twice now, once with A Perfect Circle and most recently with System of a Down. They just announced that they will be releasing a CD of live tracks on November 8th. There will be numerous tracks taken from shows between 2003-2005. I can't wait!

| TMV = greatest band ever ... they're so damm different and they soooo f*cking know what they're doing ... listen to their drums, amazing ... the bass, insane and the vocals are ... crazy (not to talk about the guita skills) When I saw them live they totally blew me away ... been quite wacked but this was truly the best concert ever (and I've seen some real cool bands before!) ...Okay, Omar's goofing around with effects pedals can be annoying sometimes but the athmosphere they create is absoluty brilliant ... Looking forward to their live DVD ... |

I mean in a band like the TMV the effects wether it be on the guitar, vocals, drums, bass, or the ambient periods are making up a substantial portion of the sound. Without them what do you think they'd sound like? I can guarantee you, while I'm sure it'd still be pretty awesome, it wouldn't be anything compared to what they are now. ![]() | |

| Yes, sure. Actually I love those ambient patterns and his weird solos ... I think Omar is a f*cking genius, but sometimes it's just ... hmm ... lacking direction I'd say ... but as far as I collect TMV bootlegs I can say that the jams become better during their tours ... and some are simply awsome, really freaking sh*t ... |

| I do agree that sometimes Omar can loose track of himself, but it's kind of neat. It's like a catching a train; is he going to make it back in time to get back on board for the next part of the song? Where is he going with this? How is he going to pull this off? Oh and the show at the Orpheum was one of the only ones that no one made a boot. Funny thing is, from all the shows I heard from the tour, it was BY FAR the best. |

| The Mars Volta is amazing, but I gotta say I liked At The Drive-In more. Those guys were incredible, especially the earlier stuff like Acrobatic Tenement and El Gran Organo. But yeah, TMV own too. |
