truth be told, I think 99% of wanna-be "hardcore" or "gangsta" rap is whack anymore. I miss the "G-Funk" from back in the day. i DL some of the newer stuff just to check it out, but I can't imagine actually paying for that trash. I had no problem dropping 15 bucks for a Tupac or Spice 1 CD back in the day, but I wouldn't spend 99 cents on a legit download on 95% of the rap that comes out now. Don't get me wrong, as I AM a rap fan, its not that I hate the genre, but I'm becoming less and less impressed with nearly all of these new rappers.

I like Young Jeezy alot, while I am very skeptical of alot of the crap that comes out now, he has a decent a sound and at least has some lyrical skills, its not just great beats and crap. I dont know, to each his own though.

I have his cd and I like it pretty well. I am more of a Kanye West, Talib Kweli, Common kinda guy. But I like Paul Wall and Outkast an awful lot so I guess I like all kinds of rap.

He uses too many adlibs. AAAYYYY!!!!, JEEAAA!!!

I'm up in the air. The only song I heard was the one with akon. Soul survivor. I'm not really into young jezzy but I do like akon cause he voice is just stright up weird lol. Thats all I got to say. I'd have to listen to some more young jezzy to really give u my opinion of him. Troublemaker I'd suggest digging into the underground. There is some good stuff comin out down there but all you'd ever hear is the commerical **** they put on the air.

If you wanna listen to rap you gotta go with the underground now a days. And I like it all, rap from the hardest gangsta to some dude rappin to his chick about his bad realtionship skills.

This world is producing more and more **** rap its pissing me off.
And all the good underground rappers will eventually go commerical and then there flows start changin. Its an endless cycle. Thats why every is always like I liked his old **** but not this new stuff.

peace,

smokin

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. I agree, I listen to three six mafia and all hypnotize minds. Frayser Boy is the sh!t! I also like young jeezy, there is a lot of classic songs on that album. Most Known Unkowns is good too.

Jeezy is pretty good. Still can't compair to all those old 2pac records, haven't been as big of a rap fan since Pac got shot. RIP.

Yep, I agree. I used to listen to Lil' Flip and Slim Thug and all of those Texas boys back when I was in highschool. Five years later they come out commercial and all of there styles change. Lil Flip sucks now, what happened? They quit doing it "for the streets" (for a lack of another way to put it) and started doing commercial junk. Much better when they were underground. Anyways, thats my 2 cents..
