| the wave/bubble effect: ok, two things: a) physics was never my deal so i properly won't be able to explain this properly in scientific terms, and b) you have to have experienced this at a rave/party to know what i mean...but here goes (had this explained to me by a dj a little while back...took the best part of three spliffs and a few beers before it got through my thick skull, mind ).at major paties when dj's are setting up rigs they position the speakers so the waves travel an exact distance and meet at a point equidistant to each sub (speaker). as the two waves meet they clash together to create depression/bubble/ripple type thing which completely changes the atmosphere within its range. i don't know how many have experienced it, but you know when your dancing to some major beats and your in that mode...but then suddenly your mood changes? you know; your hair stands on end and you get that tingle up your spine and your gut just drops through your asshole? bear with me: this is because with digital technology the dj can alter the volume/distance the wave travels (or something like that) on one side and thus move the area of effect of this depression, thus selecting certain areas of the crowd to mind**** with this anomaly. its like a literal pressure change/atmospheric change, and with the combined power some of the bigger subs create a kind of bubble around the radius of the party. this also has the benefit of making it suddenly less audible after a threshold outside the body of the party (particularly useful when the rave aint all legal ). HOW ****ING SWEET IS THAT?!? it ****ing blew my mind when i heard about it. you can only really achieve it with digital technology (not sure if he meant a mixer or a laptop)...but **** me. just wow |

| hmm, id have to look into it in depth but at first glance this appears valid. By being digital he would have been referring to adjusting power to each speaker and frequency. That would allow you to alter the sound waves properties enough to control it somewhat. maybe. i dunno. sounds nifty though. |

| LOL...digital mind control...awsome!! I could think of a few logical applications for this technique....it always seems at ever bar/club/party etc, the fights seem to focus on one area of the venue....maybe some digital mindwarp could send a calming effect their way? It'd make the bouncers' jobs easier!

| Does this theory have anything to do with the "brown note"? |
