| Rock vs rap? thats easy....I'll take BOTH. My musical tastes are as varied as my moods. I'm content most days to put Media Player on shuffle, and listen to anything I may have.....might be Floyd one song, Styles P the next, the Sublime, and then Damain Marley, and then Yonder Mountain string Band or ICP. I used to ONLY listen to ""hardcore" music, meaning heavy metal or gangsta rap. Then.....I grew up and mellowed out. With that came a definite expansion of my musical tastes. Theres far too much out there to limit yourself to one genre or another. You'd be amazed at how much good music there is out there (as long as you don't use MTV to determine what to buy/listen to). Indignant....if you're referring to that video on Kazaa or whatever that shows that group of kids smoking up hardcore, I think the song is "Buddah Smoker's Only". I'll doublecheck tomorrow, but I think thats it....and its available on every p2p program i've used....

| Rap sucks. Rock, esspecially from the 60s and 70s, is the best. Maybe there is some good rap. But the only type of "music" I've heard in those songs are generic, boring, and repetitive bass and drum lines. The whole focus is on this bmp psh sound and vovals that are basically "yo yo rape the woman and be a gangsta I am partying in da club and I cannot pronounce words right yo get a ho dey bez finez" Whereas rock is actually music. Plus, it's easier to find deep songs with lyrics that actually have a point to get a across. Rock is just better.

RAP: Kanye West, Talib Kweli, Deltron, Common, Paul Wall, Bone Thugs, Big Tymers, Lil Wayne, Mannie Phresh, 3 6, Jay-Z, Jurassic 5, Blackalicious, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Devin the Dude. I dont like anyone from G-Unit, but I do like a lot of The Game's songs. I am a firm believer that the beat makes the song. I only like listening to people with good beats. Kanye West and Mannie Phresh make the best beats in the whole rap industry. ![]()

| Definately Rock. My fav bands/singers are Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Godsmack, Disturbed. I do like some rap...eminem...hum...I guess that is about it for rap...and occassional song here and there will catch my attention, but I am a rocker. Got to see Metallica and Godsmack in concert earlier this year. Metallica is my hubby's fav, Godsmack mine killed two birds with one stone...Godsmack was better, but Alltel Areana really ruined the whole experience. Never go to a concert there!

| I gotta say I used to be all into classic rock, but now a days im a total hip hop head. As far as hip hop goes im into: the Big mother frickin L, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Gangstarr, Pharcyde, A Tribe Called Quest, OC, Nasir Jones, Common, AG, Cormega, De La Soul, Eminem (Nothing after MMLP), and the list goes on. As far as rock goes...Floyd, Doors, QUEEN, Rush, Rage Against the Machine, Tom Petty, and the Dead. As far as which is better...I'd have to say that there is tons of boring, stale, lame rock out there. So much of it sounds the same. Rap is a lot more diverse even if there are a lot of talentless acts out there. Rap/Hiphop is great, but no rapper will be ever to musically dethrone a band like Pink Floyd or Queen. What I am trying to say is that there is a lot more good rap then there is good rock, but the best rap isn't touching the best rock. |

| I consider myself a rocker but i do listen to a bit of rap (I also like to spit some freestyles when im ****ed up with friends) Personally I dont like the rap songs that are just about different ways to have sex with girls (we get it, you get a lot of *****, i've had sex I know what its about) but it really depends on my mood, sometimes I can go for some sweet guitar or some mad drum beats. Some of my favorites are: Sentenced, Rammstein, A Perfect Circle, Tool, NIN, Iron Maiden, Metallica, RATM, etc. |
