I was jsut curious as to where people stand on this whole issue. i havent really been following it at all or anything, jsut wondering.

i know theres a thread about downloading music, but thats relating to the clients people use

A recent canadian study showed that people who download music also buy more music. Thats where I stand on it, cause I know I buy WAY more music than people I know who don't download. People who donwload a lot of music are music's biggest fans, so naturally they buy more, and the RIAA(recording industry association of america) suing their best customers is really dumb.

I was happy to hear the other day that most of the biggest canadian artists refuse to be a part of the canadian equivalent of the RIAA because they support filesharing.
Filesharing is going to be the future of media distribution in my mind. Not just music either, movies, video games, etc. Hollywood and the the Recording industry are jus going to have to figure out how to make some money off that or go out of business.
