Default The Adrian Xavier Band!

Well guys, i'm pretty sure that there are more than a couple Reggae fans on here. I dig bands like Eek-A-Mouse, Capleton, Tribal Seeds, Damion Marley, and of course Bob Marley.

This Halloween I went to see a show that featured Adrian Xavier. He's a Seattle-based Reggae artist, that tours currently with the Geoffery Castle Band (who deserves a thread to himself alone!)

Anyhow, the show was billed as the Geoffery Castle Band, featuring Adrian Xavier. I think he tours around with his friends to promote his own music. Anway...

I picked a table that was directly stage-right. I was litterally sitting at a table 3 feet away from the table selling CD's...I happened to notice Adrian was sitting at the next table over from me and my friends whille Castle and his band preformed a few warm-up tracks.

I sorta chit-chatted with him and asked when we'd get to hear his Irie sounds. I got his autograph 3 times LOL (on all of his CDs I bought). I even offered to smoke him down with my friends, and he seemed interested!

In fact the rest of the band was actually looking for some smoke, but none of us had any to give them...so we offered to smoke them down with some local stuff. They were all down, but before we could go out to their van or follow them back to the hotel we had to get home. I had to work the next day at 6am, and it was already 1:30am!! The fact that the band members, and wife invited my 2 friends and I to stop by their hotel for an after-party session was cool as hell!

Geoffery Castle has actually played with members of the string cheese incident--particularly Mike Kang (violin/mandolin)...and knew who he was when I asked if he had ever heard of him!!! This guy blew michael kang away with intensity (and his 6-string violin compared to a 4 string)...but violins and reggae actually go GOOD together!

Anyway...I had a very positive experience meeting, hanging out, and chatting music scenes with the band and the wife of Geoffery Castle (she was really nice!). . .

Here's a little background on Adrian Xavier:

Quote:
Judging from the number of Seattle clubs and events at which Adrian Xavier has played, you'd deduce he likes his hometown fine, but he expects to reach even more far-flung audiences with the release of his solo debut, "R. Nature."

Adrian, who has worked with artists such as Spearhead and original members of Heart in the Geoffrey Castle Band, also caught the attention of filmmaker Mark Levin (Slam, Brooklyn Babylon) who proclaimed, "Adrian's music is my new soundtrack."
Adrian has some awesome Reggae tracks, here's his website to check out his stuff!

I want to go back to see him play this weekend, and maybe get a chance this time to smoke him down with some of my buddy's shiz...

The song on that page is called "Mother Nature". It really hits me right here *pounds chest with fist*....

I'm pretty sure he plays at Seattle Hempfest each year...?
