Offspring is not punk music it is rock,i would have to say offspring has been one of my favorite bands since i was in the 4th grade,as for NOFX they are punk and so is bad religion

Offspring's first album (showing my age with album) was punk, after that they turned more rock. I like them for the most part.

Misfits, T.S.O.L., Social Distortion, Circle Jerks, Sex Pistols, The Ramones, The Clash, Rancid, Minor Threat & Operation Ivy were pretty cool.

the virus, adolescents, a global threat, gorilla buscuits.. all good punk bands .. offspring is more pop/punk which i hate but there not as bad as some of the pop/punk bands.

Judging by their latest album they are most definantly punk.

On Sirius radio I have seen one or two songs by Offspring get played on the punk channel and others mostly on the alternative or their 90's rock channel. I was always a fan of Offspring too.

I hear Social Distortion alot on the Alternative and punk channel, Rancid is on the punk channel alot along with NOFX and Pennywise, and Bad Religion. Blink 182 gets played on the 90's rock station once in awhile. I'm suprised no one said anything about Sum 41 when talking about bands like Blink 182 bein punk.

I wouldn't see those bands as hard rock either. They would be more along the lines of punk or alternative rock.

Hard Rock bands are Slipknot, 32 Leaves, Evanescense, Chevelle, Deftones, P.O.D. Those are the bands I hear on Octane and you never hear Social Distortion, Rancid, or the other bands that were listed on that station.

as for the offspring, smash was a great album.
