| Synthesia is a mental disorder that is rather positive in which you can taste colors, smell sounds, hear taste, feel what you hear, the list is infinity. Ever since I was a small child I have assiciated the numbers 1-9 with certain colors and genders with compleately taking this gift for granted. The #1 is yellow and most of the time a male, 2 is blue an is always male, while 7 is always pink and female. After the heavy use of weed and failed attempt at trippin fully of shrooms my synthesia has increased to the point when I was faded and litterally felt, tasted, smelled, and saw ranch dressing but it did'nt look lik normal ranch it looked like a ball of color. Anyways, many musisicans incorperate their synthesia into their music like Syd Barret notably in Pink Floyd's psychadelic Alice in Wonderland Debut "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" in songs like "intersteller overdrive" which brings apon to me every color even behond what you can imagine. While "Bike" makes me picture Navy Blue And Different forms of white and black. The Beatles "Strawberry Fields forever" brings upon pink, green, brown, and mostly red. While "Tommorow never knows" is a rainbow freak fest. So what are th colors of some songs to you? ![]() |

| Dude, that sounds insanely trippy... I would imagine it is hard to function sometimes, seems like it would be confusing.

| First of all, I will say you have AMAZING taste in music! Second, I doubt if I have synthesia, at least not anything extreme, but I do attach certain colours to things if I think about it. I totally agree that 1 is yellow and 2 is blue. 3 is green, 5 is black... As for songs, Echoes by Pink Floyd is turquoise, Yellow Submarine by the Beatles is, ironically enough, green. Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun by Floyd is red and brown. Those are just a few for you!

| I know what you mean, I think everyone has a bit of that ability. I associate songs with different colors, for example, Creeping death by Metallica has a sandy color to it, And Cry of the Blackbirds by Amon Amarth has a green and black color to it. I know it's weird, I don't actually see the colors, I just kind of....know that they're there. Oh, and when I listen to The call of Ktulu, I think of a very dark green jungle image. |

| The only time that happens to me is at night when I'm falling asleep, or high. I mostly picture shapes with songs though......and I don't remember them off hand.

| Some things I gotta point out. Synesthesia is a neurological condition, not a mental disorder. There's a big distinction there. It's what happens when two different sensory systems become tied together. It's not a disorder because there aren't instances of it interfering with normal life. It's not really confusing because people who have it more or less had it during their entire lifetime. |
