Talking Ska

So, does anyone here like Ska?

If so what bands/ songs should i listen to?

I'm really into ska at the moment, it just seems so happy and fun. It's like "I don't care how shit I am, I'm having fun so you can f*ck off"

If you don't like ska, then I would like to know what music makes you happy and is good for parties, so I can expand my musical horizons!!

Cheers

*hugs you for mentioning Catch Twenty Two*
they're my favorite band. ever. some of their newer stuff isn't as ska-ish, but yeah, get into their old stuff. and i'm also gonna echo streetlight manifesto and mustard plug. streetlight manifesto is made up of ex-members of c22 so yeah theyre similar. i love ska.

Yeah Catch 22 are my favorite as well. I think their earlier stuff is better than streetlight manifesto, it just seems more fun and happy.

me too. they come to my town all the time and it's awesome cause i live in the middle of nowhere so not many people come out, and it's a really chill enviornment, where you can meet the band and shit. ryan eldred is a funny guy.

another band i'd reccomend is the rx bandits.

Catch 22 and Streetlight Manifesto go hand in hand. They're both awesome. I also really like The Voodoo Glow Skulls, Mad Caddies, and The Aquabats, to name a few.

Ska is great "happy" music, and you definitely know it when you see everyone skanking at the shows. Fun stuff!

The Dropkick Murphys are always good for parties with a lot of beer.

For smoking... I would say classic rock is the best way to go. Long songs that sound very epic. Ted Nugent's 'Stranglehold', Aerosmith's 'Sweet Emotion', or Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Freebird' are great.

The all time best song to smoke to and really enjoy at a party is Simple Man by Skynyrd. (IMO)
