My vote goes for Jon Theodore, formerly of The Mars Volta. Listen to any song off their first three albums, and you will be blown away by his drumming technique. The man is a monster, he sounds like an octopus is playing those skins. The Volta's new drummer, Thomas Pridgen, is really good too, he's also like 18 years old or something insane. No one that young should be as good as he is. Try to listen to the drums specifically, Jon is a Haitian beast! Here's a new, unreleased song with Thomas on drums: MARS VOLTA | WAX SIMULACRA | |

| Living: Aynsley Dunbar Terry Bozzio Ginger Baker (although he looks dead at times )Dana Carvey (Yeah, he IS pretty good...and DID play the solo in Wayne's World!) Dead: John Bonham Keith Moon (who SOME consider the best drummer who ever lived!) Buddy Rich Gene Krupa Desi Arnaz (Do congas count? )Here's a GREAT drum solo by Terry Bozzio when he was playing with Frank Zappa...he ROCKS! ![]() And here's a cool vid of a time-lapse set-up & take-down of Terry's set. He's got a fortune wrapped up in cymbals ALONE! ![]() |

| Moon and Bozio are great choices but I have to go with John Henry Bonham. I've never seen anyone play like he does. Probably never will. |

Then again, I suppose the same could be said about Keith Moon. Has anybody heard of the rumored Keith Moon movie, "See Me Feel Me"? Mike Myers is supposed to play Moon, it sounds like it will be interesting. See Me Feel Me: Keith Moon Naked for Your Pleasure (2009)

| Bill ward from sabbath is one of the early great drummers. Toto's drummer is pretty sweeet too. and I always have respect for Def Leppard's one armed drummer, he plays better than many two-armed drummers. |
