Default Puscifer - V is for Vagina

So, being a HUGE Tool fan (They are my favorite band) I am naturally very excited that Maynard's/Puscifer's new album is coming out Tuesday.

It is streaming on his Myspace page for anyone who wants to hear it. I am actually really really disappointed with it, the first half of the album has this really boring drony sound. I liked Momma Sed, but again it has that really drony/buzzy sound like a lot of the songs. It's pretty ambient and low key, I expected - shit I don't know what I expected but not this sound.

I'm hoping it will grow on me, I've only listened to half of it so far but I will give my full impressions when the album finally comes out on Tuesday or after I have listened to the streamed album a few times.

What does everyone else think of the album so far? I'd have to say it isn't anything I expected from Maynard, although kind of disappointed in the sound, I am very glad he is releasing new material. I was also kind of upset to see Maynard displayed prominently on the front of Myspace featured artist. I hope this isn't the change I always dreaded to happen in Maynard... we shall see.

Give your impressions, insights, thoughts, anything on Maynards/Puscifer's new album.

Okay, I know there is at least ONE member here who appreciates Tool or at least Puscifer, ANY thoughts or opinions on the new release? Will anyone be picking it up?

I heard about it on the radio the other day. Not to sure if I will check it out, I would have much rather him come out with something with A Perfect Circle.

Well, V for Vagina has now been out for a while and I would have to say I recommend it to anyone who has decent taste in music - wait, I recommend it to anyone who's ears still function. Support this guy, really this album is amazing - although I downloaded an early leak I still went out and bought the CD. The kickass album art and hilarious content of the folding paper case is absolutely hilarious. I was cracking up reading it, it's grand.

Anyways the new album has really growed on me. Before I viewed it as really drony and slow - a chugging sound but I realize now this is a slow auditory orgasm bursting in your ear. My favorite track would have to be Momma Sed, but Drunk With Power, Vagina Mine, Trekka, and Indigo Children are all very stellar. The entire album is great, I give it two thumbs up. This is solid, good music.
