| Over the past 3 years or so, Indie-Rock has become my personal favorite genre. I just have really grown a love for the art of song writing, which i feel is at a FAR superior level then what is played on the radio. Some of my favorite bands and albums by them- The Good Life- Album of the Year Blackout Elliott Smith- Elliott Smith Either/Or Bright Eyes- Fevers and Mirrors Cursive- The Ugly Organ Radiohead- Kid A Tilly and the Wall- Wild Like Children Ben Gibbard- Transatlantacism All Time Quarter Back Modest Mouse- A Lonesome Crowded West and sooooooo much more stuff that i dont feel like posting now, haha. Hopefully this board is as into this type of music as I am because i would love for a place to talk about it. |

| I like some indie rock. My favorite indie band is Bear vs. Shark. They are practically unknown and if you just read this sentence than you have to acquire both of their albums, now. I really really like Modest Mouse, they were the latest band I have seen live. I'd have to say my favorite album of theres is either The Moon & Antartica, Lonesome Crowded West. Their newest efforts have been not the best, but I do really dig a few tracks; notably Spitting Venom, Float On, and Missed the Boat. I also like a bunch of other stuff like Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, Godspeed you! Black Emperor, Red Sparowes, Bright Eyes, and I'm sure a couple other artists I am forgetting.

| Modest Mouse is one of my favourite bands. I like most of the CDs.. especially The Moon and Antarctica, and Good News for People Who Love Bad News. I only liked a couple tracks from their latest CD.. mind you, I haven't given it a good listen yet. I also like.. Death Cab for Cutie (some) Flaming Lips.. |

Cake is one of those bands that's just incredibly fun. John McCrea has a really lounge-y voice, it's really good for singing along. Fashion Nugget is probably their best album, but I also really like Comfort Eagle and Prolonging the Magic. There's not much better than just driving down the road singing Cake at the top of your lungs. "I want a girl with a short skirt and loooooooooooooong....looong jacket!" Me and some friends did that song a few years ago for a school talent show. It was a lot of fun.

| Arcade Fire is pretty good, I really liked Funeral, but like Zaireeka, I haven't paid much attention to Neon Bibles. And Zaireeka, good call on the Nick Drake, I got into him about a year ago, and have been bumpin him since, great song-writer. |

His story is a bit depressing, though. I suggest you guys read it, I'm sure Wikipedia would have it.

She's a much bigger Smith fan than I am, though. I think most of his songs sound too sad.
