|  While Jazz is its own language, one of the things it has always done is absorbed other styles. The classic era is always associated with that swing feel, walking bass, etc but now days it's a whole different ballgame. People mix all kinds of stuff together. It's a shame the music education sucks in this country. Every kid should play an instrument and be able to sing "Donna Lee" by 5th grade. |

| So I got a bunch of Buddy Rich and I would just like to say thank you for the suggestion vern. His jazz is very different from Monk, but I like it all the more so.
