I'm not as big a fan of metal as I used to be, but I still have a few I like a bit.

Tool still remains as one of my favorite bands (along with A Perfect Circle, but I guess that's not quite metal). What're some of your favorites, G-man?

Nothing better than putting on the metal channel on Sirius (6027) and getting ripped. Especially when they play Slayer or Sepultura or something heavy like that.

Tool isn't metal for one.

I am a huge metalhead, emphasis on huge. My favorite metal acts are Amon Amarth, Borknagar, Gojira, Insomnium, Between the Buried and Me, Dissection, and Nachtmystium, along with countless other acts.

Personally, I don't consider them to be metal, either, but some people do. I also don't consider them to be "progressive", although they do use some crazy time signatures. I'd call Dream Theater progressive, for sure. Tool I'd say is like Psychedelic Hard Rock, with emphasis on psychedelic.

Well,if you ask me A.P.C isnt metal at all,but Tool is some awesome stuff to get baked to

Most of what I like comes from the Northern countries like Canada,Norway,Sweden etc.There is quite a good amount of american metal but its really gone downhill in the last few years. Here's a few of my fav's but im not sure you guys will know them

Aborted,Asmegin,Behemoth,Catamenia,Dark Tranqulity,Eluveitie,Ensiferum,Finntroll,Insomnium ....i'll stop here cause this could go forever

Pretty much anything that falls into Melodic Death & Folk Viking metal

If anyone needs some good stuff let me know,i'll tell you where to find some

Ganjaman007 you get uber cool points for mentioning Eluveitie. Their album Spirit is so kickass, they just announced their new album will be delayed but released in 2008 I believe - very excited
