| They're one of my top 5 favorite bands. And did I read that they are coming out with their next album like January 28th? Maybe I'm remembering it wrong, does anyone know? |

| I kind of like At the Drive In. But it is no where close to TMV. The Mars Volta is amazing. They are in a league of their own. Bedlam is such a good album...My favorite songs off the newest album: Goliath, Ilyena, Ouroboros, Askepios...They're all good though... I don't know which album is my favorite by them. I love the new one, Frances, and Deloused all the same. I'm not a fan of Amputechture, it's definitely their weakest. I can't believe I haven't seen them live yet. The closest place they're coming near me is Detroit on their up-coming tour, and that's not exactly around the corner from my house. I believe it's a 4 hour drive if I decide to cut through Canada. If I can get someone to go with me, I think I'm going to go, they look awesome live and they're new drummer is a beast..... Long Live the Volta! Last edited by glorious : 04-02-2008 at 11:36 PM. |

| Does anybody else think that Bedlam has a HUUUUGE King Crimson influence to it? At least, the first half of it seems that way to me, like their early 70's proto-metal type albums such as Red and Starless and Bible Black. I think the first half of Bedlam may be some of the strongest stuff written by TMV, but the second half really pales in comparison. A very solid album altogether, though, and I certainly enjoy it much more than Amputeccture. "Tourniquet Man" is the only song that I could 100% do without.
