Well, initial reports state homicide was investigating, but as of right now the death seems to be a result of "natural causes". He was found full clothed on his bed, and nothing drug-related was found in his room

Pimp C's one of my favorite rappers of all time...I'd rather it had been any other rapper instead of him. I liked UGK since the first time I heard them (on the Menace II Society soundtrack - they had one of the few good songs on there), but didn't become a huge fan until Ridin' Dirty came out.

I had a bad feeling about something happening to him for a while now...he was one of the realest rappers out there, and reminded me a lot of 2Pac. It's fucked up, cause Chad Butler was one of the best at what he did & influenced a lot of people along the way. His music will be missed by many....RIP

I here ya homie. i was hooked on UGK from the first time I heard them, incidently, also on the Meanace soundtrack. I remember buying Supertight on casette and marveling at the amount of weed pictured on the inside cover. At that point, being young and naive, that was the most weed I'd ever seen on one table!! I more or less wore out that tape.....so many classics....."Pocket full of stones" Fedz in town" "Left it wet for ya"....UGK laid down the blueprint for Southern Rap, along with Eightball and MJG. He was a pioneer, well ahead of his time in the rap game, again, like you said, just like Pac.

edit--and Spice 1 got shot yesterday too! ironically, it was also the Meance II Society soundtrack that got me hooked on his music, too! If I was on the soundtrack, I'd be watchin' my back.....tragedies seem to happen in 3's

and although he's not popular anymore, another rapper Spice 1 was shot in la and is in critical condition, he's actually friends with pimp c apparently

Horrible news. I cant believe it, no more UGK. They were just on the rise again too, with International Players Ball bumpin in every stereo. So sad, I just assumed he OD'd, still dont know the full story. Everyone gots to blaze a Dutchie or something for the fall of a legend.
