| i am curious where you find your music that you listen to. i am not looking for specific filesharing apps, but channels and media where you find about new bands and artists, eg. TV, internet messageboards, friends, radio etc. and how did you get to the point in your musical preference and does it change often? personally i started listening to whatever everyone else were listening to when i was an early teen, this was of course metallica. then it went to marilyn manson and nine inch nails, by this time i had already a pretty different taste from the rest of my friends who went more into the punk sound, which i to this day don't really understand. also gave hiphop a listen now and then but it was mostly some sort of metal and some classics such as the doors and pink floyd. i then discovered tool which i became a huge fan of, during this time i also started to check out electronic music (dj shadow, amon tobin and the rest of the ninja tune label) thanks to audiogalaxy. listened to abit of jazz, more of the fusion kind, bitches brew miles davis, weather report and mahavishnu orchestra. a little bit earlier i also listened to psychedelic trance along with tool, jazz and downtempo electronic music. today i mostly listen to the more experimental sort of electornic music and various other styles of electronic sounds, but do still enjoy jazz, post-rock and hiphop. due to the more marginal music taste tv or radio does not help me finding new music, so it's mostly hanging on the internets on likeminded forums and following the releases of labels i think release the sound i like. sorry it it's long. how abotu the rest of you?
