Default Phish Phans!

To all those Phish-heads out there... What's your favorite song? If you can't decide... What's your favorite album or live performance?

I'm going with my favorite song is Weekapaug Groove, favorite studio album is Junta and my favorite live performance is either Hampton Comes Alive or New Year's Eve '95.

PRAY FOR A REUNION!!

I have very mixed feelings about phish. I really can't stand the vocals, I don't think the guy has a very good voice but their jam sessions are out of this world. I absolutely love getting really high and putting on a live one and just skipping through to their 3 or 4 minute jam sessions and going through the whole CD like that. All the vocal parts I skip but as musicains man, they are so good. I think gumbo and stash are two of the songs on a live one that just have absolutely insane jams.

I enjoy listening to Phish, in fact I really should start listening to them more often than I do.

My favorite song by them is one that's just a jam for like seven minutes, and then the vocals are just something along the lines of "Damnnnnn." and "Mannnnn." or something like that. Not sure of the name of it.

Haha nice, you're talking about the song You Enjoy Myself. It is also one of my favorites. One of the songs that I appreciate because of it's incredible composition and fluidity. It feels like you're floating through the music.

As for everyone who has and will dis the vocals, for sure Trey doesn't have the greatest voice but for the most part the harmonies are well placed and sound nice on all of their studio albums. Their live performances vary greatly but most shows have great vocals.

Ah, I appreciate you naming the song for me, as I'm pretty stoned and in the mood to listen to it right now.

As for the vocals, I like them, they're unique in my opinion, and way too many singers sound a like.

Yeah, very true. I like how they accommodate a four part harmony into almost every song with lyrics. When they get it right, they sound unmatched.

If you like You Enjoy Myself, try Free on the Billy Breathes album. You can listen to some nice vocal harmonies and some awesome instrumentals. If you're really up for an adventure, listen to Simple on the Hampton Comes Alive album.

I resent that hahaha.
It may be quintessential "pothead" music but I think it's a warranted stereotype. Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon, Paige O"Connell and Jon Fishman at their prime may be the best combination of straight-up talented musicians ever.
