| Has anyone around here heard it yet? I found an early leaked version, gave it to Spiral and we both gave it a listen. Now, right off the bat, it's not as good as St. Elsewhere. St. Elsewhere is just a genuine diamond in the rough. The Odd Couple has grown on me since I first heard it, now that I'm understanding more of the lyrics and getting in tune with the new beats. They are kinda flat as Spiral pointed out, but it could be much worse IMO. The songs I enjoy I have no problem with the beats. So any opinions? Is it worth it? I think so. Good as St. Elsewhere? Nope. Still loving Gnarls Barkley? HELL YES.

| All I know is that Cee-Lo is one hell of a singer and gives every other vocalist out there today a run for their money.

| I've grown to enjoy most of the songs on the album. The only ones I really don't care for are Would Be Killer and Open Book. Besides that, each song has a bit that means something special to me. Cee-Lo can bring so much emotion to a song with his singing style and if I ever feel like I need to get some emotion out, Gnarls is a pretty good choice. Over time, these guys have slowly crawled up my list of favorite groups. I'd have to say they are by far my favorite hip-hop group out right now, and one of my favorite music groups in general. If no one has really given him a chance, I suggest you at least try. When I downloaded their first album St. Elsewhere I just knew I somewhat liked the song Crazy, I never knew how much I would grow to love the group. I have no idea why this is a reefer madness video(I guess cause the song title has "Mary" in it?), but this is one of my favorite from the album: Another great from The Odd Couple: Unfortunately I can't find many songs from The Odd Couple on youtube , Here's a small clip from some MTV special they did. Something about Cee-Lo and his emotion just captures me, and I love how he does this small little rendition of the song. Alright, I'm done. Whatcha think of Gnarls? | I'll say this isn't normally the kind of music I listen to. I heard a lot of good stuff about this album and I was familiar with "Crazy" which was a unique radio-friendly song. Listened to some of the first album and I wasn't that thrilled with it. I heard "Going On" a while back and though it was hot. I got curious and downloaded the album on iTunes. After a couple of listens it completely consumed me. I still listen to it regularly today. Has to be my favorite release of the year rivaled only by the new Beck and MAYBE the new TV on the Radio. |

The Odd Couple is a great album. For me it's one of those albums I like to listen all the way through, almost every song is a winner. I was lucky enough to see Gnarls twice in the past 3 months at Summerfest and Lollapalooza. Great shows, and I think he's still touring. Last edited by jonolikesbuster : 09-26-2008 at 11:59 PM.

I think The Odd Couple is a good album, but thats it, not amazing to me. I saw Gnarls Barkley for free at Irving Plaza in NYC, one of those myspace secret shows. Cee-lo gives off so much energy and the live band was awesome. Can't believe how well the drummer did Just a Thought. Last edited by Audio : 09-27-2008 at 04:36 AM.
