I think I may be in the minority of metal heads who smoke pot here... Anyways this is one of my favorite bands, wondering if anyone else likes em!

Hey, another metalhead! Sweet, we are rare here. Yeah, I am a huge Opeth fan. My favorite album would probably be Blackwater Park. I like their newest work Ghost Reveries alot as well. But, you gotta give it up to Damnation and Deliverance too.I have their live dvd Lamentations, it's absolutely sweet - has 5.1 surround, is great to listen to and smoke the bong, they play the entire Damnation album, followed by several of their heavy numbers. Their new album, called Watershed is coming out soon I believe. I cannot wait.

opeth was my favorite band for a few months. one thing i really appreciate about them is that they're just as good at slow, melodic stuff as they are at heavy stuff. they're talent is diverse.

| Opeth is without a doubt my favorite band of all time. I own everything they've ever recorded, with the exception of the Lamentations live album (20 bucks on iTunes is a little steep for me). I want to start an Opeth cover band, if I can find enough people who would be into it. Has anyone heard Mikael Akerfeldt's death metal side project, Bloodbath? He only sang with them on two albums, Resurrection Through Carnage and Breeding Death, but it is some of the most insanley brutal death metal ever. | Yeah, I have all of Bloodbaths work. They are great, Mass Strangulation is probably my favorite song on Resurrection Through Carnage. Did you know he sang the growls on Katatonia's Brave Murder Day and Sounds of Decay album? I thought that was cool. I really like Katatonia (some stuff I dont like though, mostly older melancholy long drone songs) Oh, and dude. I totally recommend buying the Lamentations DVD. You said the Live album, but there is also a DVD out there - I dunno if you knew that or not, but, I own it and its absolutely spectacular in 5.1 Surround Sound. ![]() |

Yeah, I've seen the show. You can actually watch it on Google Video for free. The video quality kind of sucks (I'm sure it's better on the DVD), but the sound is perfect. I watched it one night while smoking a big-ass blunt, it felt like I was at a fucking Opeth show. I've actually seen them live twice, once with Moonspell and DevilDriver, and the other time with Lamb of God. They're coming through here again in a few months, so I'm going to try to see them again. Do you know if they're going to do a DVD for The Roundhouse Tapes? Because I would totally buy that. I just downloaded the album from iTunes the other night and I was blown away. I especially love the "porn music" bit at the end of "Blackwater Park". EDIT: I just noticed the Video in Silverspork's post--I guess there is a Roundhouse Tapes DVD! ![]() Last edited by StonedImmaculate21 : 04-07-2008 at 03:23 AM.
