| I am a deadhead. I'm sure there are others on this sight (Dedbr, obviously) but others must exist. Share live shows, tour experiences, anything. I saw the Grateful dead twice, once when I was six months old, once again when I was 2. I found a really cool tape at a garage sale of a the Drums, then first half of the other one into slipknot and then the rest of the other one. It was pretty spectacular, and I'd upload it if anyone is interested. |

| Thanks for the notice, alive....... ![]() Yes, I am a "deadhead". I'm a real fan of the music, but the campgrounds and Dead Lot were a true experience. I was at Deer Creek in Indiana for the fourth of July shows. The second one was cancelled because the ass holes broke down a fence and the cops had to use tear gas, so the next day the Dead as a band issued a statement saying they wouldn't condone violence or the possibility of some one really getting hurt, so they cancelled the second show. I was going to see both shows, but oh well, a few assholes always ruin it for the rest of us, huh? The camp ground that we stayed at was a pay lake that they rented spaces to the folks who were on tour that needed some where to camp out during the weekend. It was straight off the hook, I'm telling ya. Purple and blueberry bud so kind that two hits would have ya sailing. Of course there were more off-topics than you could shake a stick at, but that was the Dead. They represented a lost generation of hippies who refused to accept life as a normal person does. Once you take a trip on Casey Jones' train, things just aren't seen the same way ever again. Let's just say that it will definately be a life changing experience. The best part was the vibe at the show or the campgrounds or the lot. I didn't see one fight or hassle the whole three days. It was really a great thing to experience.......... Thanks Jerry........ Wherever you are..........Some Where In Dead Land..............

| I was born to late to see the Grateful Dead live, Jerry Died when I was 6 and since my parents aren't hippies I didn't even know about the Grateful Dead until a few years ago. I've only seen bob Weir and Ratdog twice and it was sweet; he played in Covington Kentucky a few weeks and it was awesome, so many kind people having a great time with no worries at all. If any of you will be checking out Gratefulfest at Nelson Ledges this summer hit me up and we will smoke a bowl or two over a campfire. |

| the grateful dead is my father's favorite band. all of my musical influence comes from him. since the time i was school-age, i would get off the bus and my dad would be passing through on his way from the stock yards to our farm. he would put on a CD and i'd have a snack while he ate his lunch, and he would tell me about the history of the band and/or songs, the influences that they had (musical and/or otherwise). grateful dead is one we spent a lot of time on. not only does the dead rock, but they're a pretty big part of my childhood, as well ![]() |

| I saw Bob Weir in concert when he was playing in Columbus. ![]() Other than that, can't say I've been to see any of their shows, they were before my time... I'm still a fan though. |

| I wish I had the chance to see them. But alas I wasn't born back then. Oh Well. I love them as a band, and when I play them at work my boss always tells stories of the good ol' times.

Edit: So yeah, it turns out this thread is about Greatful Dead and not dreadlocks :O I do enjoy Greatful Dead and I think Jerry Garcia is/was a genius. They are one of my favourite psychedelic rock bands along with Jefferson Airplane/Starship. I wish I had seen them live.
