What are we on, The Drought Vol. XIV or something. Quit with the mixtape game. Find your own fucking beats. Stop snatchin all those instrumentals and fuckin em up. There are endless rappers that sound tight on the sickest beats that are out. Stop giving him credit for someone else's work.
Also, stop with the mother fuckin similies. Just cause you thought of one while you were ruining someone else's beats, doesnt mean it needs to go in that song. Spit some relevant content to what youre rapping about. You could take anyone of your similies or metaphors, put it anywhere in any of your other million songs, and nobody would be able to tell the difference.

Oh yea, I got on my rant there and forgot to give him props where props is due. Up until The Carter 2, maybe Like Father Like Son, Lil Wayne was sickwitit.

The only rappers/hip-hop artists/whatever I listen to regularly are Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Afroman. So, I don't really know about this Lil Wayne character.

i havent heard much from wayne, but everything i heard sucks. He's got some good beats and a few decent hooks, but his lyrics lack musical talent.

His music and hooks are more often than not stolen from other artists. That being said, i share Dark's opinion...some of it is absolute garbage, but then when he's "on" his shit is tight as hell. No matter whether you love him or hate him, you've got to admire his drive. I'd be willing to bet he's recorded more music over the last 2 years than most rappers (or any musicans) will in their lifetime. Besidews, the mixtape circut lets him do whatever he wants....Yeah, I'd be bummed if I spent 10 bucks on one of his mixtapes, but they're FREE..... at least for anyone with a basic understanding of computers. He knows he's not going to profit on these tracks. He's just putting them out there because he loves making music, and sees no point in NOT releasing it. I'm far from a rapid lil wayne fan. In fact, it took me quite awhile to even give him the sm,allest chance. That being said, his drive is impressive as hell. When you record 500 songs a year, its hard to make each one a slammer....rather, he puts it all out there, and lets people sort through his stuff to see what THEY like. In fact, he doesn't even have a rough tracklist for his studio album....he just keeps turning in tracks to the company and sayus its their job to sort out the hits.

I think one of my problems with him putting out so much shit is that people give him too much credit for the beats. He's takes all the hottest beats out there and makes them his own, and for people that dont get into hiphop, they hear Wayne and think he's god, cause he gets all the tightest tracks. I never thought Id see the day where an artist I liked really well turned me away from listening because his flood of tracks on the industry. Legends like Dre are legends for a reason, quality ass music, once every 7 years. Keeps you wanting more.

Its just such a fucking trend these days to listen to Wayne, kills me as a hiphophead.
