Early morning news troll… Just noticed this out of Sacramento. It looks like Tom Ammiano’s MMJ bill has passed the California Assembly. The bill, which has its sights squarely set on providing an errors and omissions committee for California’s, allegedly less than forthright medical marijuana collectives and their dealings within then Ca. Prop 215 system.
The Ammiano sponsored bill, AB2312 would set up a 9 member board — that any and all California State medical marijuana collectives, cultivators, delivery services and producers of any cannabinoid based products, would have to register with the state in order to business in CA.
While many cities and counties are busy cracking down on marijuana collectives, AB2312 would require the local municipalities and counties to permit at least 1 MMJ collective – per each 50,000 inhabitants. The one caveat to this bill is, should local officials or voters choose to support a prohibition on marijuana collectives, they would have the right to introduce and implement an outright ban on marijuana dispensaries. Now having passed the California Assembly, AB2312 is headed to the floor of the Ca. Senate.
Despite the bills passage, more than a few antagonists alleged that marijuana has absolutely no legitimate medical uses, to which Ammiano indicted that his slightly out of touch contemporaries needed to educate themselves as to the opinions of their constituents.
