“If you substitute marijuana for tobacco and alcohol, youll add eight to 24 years to your life.”
… Jack Herer
How many of us – in the attempt at keeping our marijuana hidden from those that don’t need to know about it, regardless of whether it’s your kids — your mom and dad… or more importantly the police? No one wants to lose their expensive pot to an inquiring mind that disapproves. This simple fact forces the average pot smoker to find some new and unique locations to use as stash spots.
There are many ways to accomplish this task, but some are better than others. Depending on whom it is you’re trying to hide your stash from. The task can sometimes be harder than necessary. If you’re the parent in the house and just trying to keep the curious little hands of toddlers out of the cookie jar, then putting your meds up, out of reach, is often sufficient. However if teenagers are who you’re trying to hide your stash from, things can get a little more interesting. Also the teenager in this modern day and age has a parent that has grown up ‘well-versed’ in the dank skunk smell of today’s KGB marijuana strains.
I know I’m not the only one that has faced this concern. So you’ve got your recommendation and buds, now you’re getting ready to go on vacation. How do you go about transporting the weed that you know you will need later; either for that short vacation just upstate… or the cross country trek to grannies house? Or – it’s late in the afternoon, you just had a busy day at work and are just trying to make it over to your buddy’s house in time for 4:20?
No matter how you slice it …hiding your stash takes a little forethought and a bit of psychological understanding.
As far as carrying weed in your car, it is obviously best to keep your buds either locked in the glove box with the key hidden somewhere in the car, or in one of the many types of stash cans. These cans have a removable bottom and are hollowed out in the center. These discrete stash cans come in many familiar shapes, sizes and brand names. By simply unscrewing the bottom of one of these containers, one can insert their medicine, screw on the bottom and unless someone picks it up and shakes it – they will never be the wiser.
For around the house the same containers work well, hiding out in the open… sitting on a shelf in either the garage or in a closet. If reading is more your cup of tea, stash books also conceal the chronic in a most inconspicuous way. There are many types of stash books that can be purchased either online, or at just about any head shop. The great thing about the stash books is that many of them, come with a combination lock. So should it be discovered on your bookshelf, someone would then have to go through the trouble of opening.
Last but not least — for the pot smoking technophile in the group, we have a mad array of different technological gadgets that are meant more as a place to put pot, then as a CPU to crunch numbers. Also, as some pot smokers have tired of their ‘old Apple iPods, they discover that after conversion, they make a very ingenious blunt box.
The bottom line here is – if you live in a medical marijuana state… you still need to be discreet around the house – and while you’re on the road. As a general rule of thumb, showing an ounce of discretion with your medical marijuana is worth a pound of precaution and staying out of trouble with the law, spouse, mom, dad or kids.
