Holy Shit Im not great at math but Ive lived a long life paying taxes. My opinion doesnt matter cause everyone else has got one of them too but... We make a decent living with three kids and we are "middle class' but living paycheck to paycheck. If this debate is about taxing everything but we can keep our whole earnings I guarantee we are screwed. With gas, food, hell everything going up in prices, we will be the new poor! If this is the case, I know people will start raping the free assistance available then how we gonna pay for that? They already do guys and it pissess off workin joes like us but at some point im ready to say fuck it huh? And disrespecting our "old" people is bunk!! howd you get to be the smart, free, educated people you are? never posted and will probaably get trashed but come on!!

Localized anarchy (my verson of anarchy). Localized anarchy involves creating many little communitys of communitys of practace (or C.O.P.) that consist of like-minded people. These like-minded people meet, and decide how to solve the problems at hand.

But what if one community decides - Fuck this I want power
Heres a senerio (sorry not sure if I went over this with you) there are communitys a-z. Community c decides it wants power. Community c takes over communitys a and b. By this time, the other communitys find out about this interaction, and decide to stop it. Now communitys d-z go and break up super comunity abc into communitys a, b, and c once again. Theres no way ABC can go up against the sheer mass of DEFGHIJKLMNOP.
Good luck ever trying to get something like this going...

If it would work out the way you claim, I don't think it would be a bad system. Problem is, it is astronomically unlikely that it won't.

Sounds good in principle, but I find it far too idealistic - seems completely incompatable with human behavior.

Speaking of taxes, I have not read much about the Cayman Islands but are they successful with their low taxes?

Marxian thought rests on the fundamental assumption that it is human nature to transform nature, and he calls this process of transformation "labour" and the capacity to transform nature "labour power."

I'm really not trying to get into a debate on the technicalities of this with you (I hadn't ever even heard of 'localized Anarchy' until you brought it up, and I also have to confess that I have read very little Marx) - I was only pointing out that from a practical standpoint, it seems unfeasible, and that I don't see enough checks/balances in place to prevent it from devolving into tyranny.

If you could recommend some reading for me which more extensively describes your standpoint, I would greatly appreciate it.

EDIT - From what I've gathered (and please, correct me if I am wrong), you essentially just want to "wing it" as a society. If this is the case, then your foundation is flawed. You can't always "talk out" a problem (well, you should be able to, but as I implied in my last post - human behavior can be very unpredictable), and what do you do when one of these sub-societies can't come to a conclusion to one of their issues? Conflict is inevitable. Without a governing body in place, we would be on the fast-track to chaos.

It seems to me that the core of your proposal is flawed, because it requires that everyone share the same way of thinking. As nice as this might be - it's still a pipe dream.

As to websites - Anarchy 101 - Anarchopedia is a nice fairly short and to the point description of Anarchy.
As to books I highly sugest that you read Derrick Jensen's Endgame, and Daniel Quinn's Ishmael.
I also sugest that you watch
YouTube - I. Anarchy
, and
YouTube - Brainwashed Two: What Is Anarchy

I could recomend many, many more readings, but these are relatively good ones.

Ok. Acidrain, tell me this...

Who decided to hire and fire officers? Who decides how much they make? Who decides who pays them? Who pays to keep prisoners in prison (or do you just execute them all?)?

Who administrates all this money?

Even that video you posted (the first) states that this 'localized anarchy' is a utopian ideal...

I've never disagreed that your proposal is good in principle, it's just, as I said - utopian.
