| All i gotta say is that Ron Paul could be a good candidate but for sure Mike Gravel08 is better, search for him, he wants to decriminalize weed... Ron paul wants to take it to the congress and see if they approve it... make a 2nd thought man.... GRAVEL08 is the man!! |

Something like this: I, (the president), lots of fancy legal mumbo jumbo, pardon the use or possession up to (amount) of Marijuana by anyone in the United States of America, so long as they do it in the privacy of their own home, and do not operate Heavy Machinery, with the same laws for alcohol applying." Or something like that. I think. >.< | |

| Actually a president has the sole authority to reschedule drugs without congressional approval. The DEA is an executive organization and has been given the authority by the Controlled Substances Act to reschedule drugs as they see fit. The President as the executive has sole authority over all executive branch organizations. Therefore Ron Paul could immediately legalize any and all drugs on the federal level. Now the process for rescheduling is quite complicated and is used as a means for the DEA to do pretty much whatever they want but if an order comes down from the top it is all over. In regards to Mike Gravel being better; I believe he only wants to legalize weed, he doesn't want to get rid of the DEA or legalize anything else. Ron Paul would leave everything up to the states. And I guarantee some state is going to want the tax revenues from LSD, shrooms and anything else your heart desires. The same idea of Presidents having sole control over executive branch organizations would also allow Ron Paul to immediately end the IRS. |
