this guy might just announce his run for president..as an independant..guy is worth estimated anywhere between 5.5-20 billion (according to msnbc's source)

he could put 500 mill down on this...the guy was 18 and poor and he is now 65 and filthy rich...clearly evidence of intellectual creativity

could really shake up the race! this is exciting! lol ill let u know what they say when they say it...but what tlese could he be announcing ya know?

There are alot of things that I like about Ron Paul, but I don't know if a Republican is what we need at this point in time, I would have loved to see him in the presidency 8 years ago, but right now I think we need someone who is willing to raise taxes and make progress in getting out of this deficit. However I do agree with Ron Paul's fair and honest use of taxpayer money, his uncompromising standing to his ideals, and his resistance to party whips when it comes time to vote on bills. I'm really stuck between him and Kucinich at this point, however unfortunately I am pretty sure Obama will take this one and go on to become another military-industrial complex puppet steering the American people further down our abyss.

EDIT: On topic, Bloomberg may have greatly multiplied his wealth, but he was never poor, he grew up in a Jewish family, lived in the suburbs of boston and went to Harvard. I'd hardly say he was poor.

Fuck Bloomburg and his pro-life, pro-gun control politics.....I won't vote for any gun grabber, no matter what his views are on other issues. If they are willing to defilethe Second Amendment, they'll be willing to dismiss other parts of the Constitution whenever they see fit as well......I won't vote for anyone who doesn't see the Second Amendment for what it is.....a guarantee that US citizens can privately own firearms that shall not not infringed. Ron paul for President!!!!

Word, last thing we need is a pro-lifer in office, that's another con to Ron Paul IMO, he believes Roe v. Wade is unconstitutional.

LOL....true, but my feelings on abortion aren't nearly as strong as my feelings regarding marijuana legalization or gun control.

Oh man...Your going to stick with the State's Rights theory?
I'm more of a Standard Model man, myself.

Since we are all at the mercy of the 9 old folks in robes...How about they settle the matter for us?
Quote:
In the face of this Supreme Court record, is it accurate for gun control advocates to claim that the non-individual nature of the Second Amendment is "perhaps the most well-settled" point in all of American constitutional law? [FN371] The extravagant claim cannot survive a reading of what the Supreme Court has actually said about the Second Amendment. In the written opinions of the Justices of the United States Supreme Court, the Second Amendment does appear to be reasonably well-settled--as an individual right. The argument that a particular Supreme Court opinion's language about the Second Amendment does not reflect what the author "really" thought about the Second Amendment cannot be used to ignore all these written opinions--unless we presume that Supreme Court Justices throughout the Republic's history have written things about the Second Amendment that they did not mean.
While the Warren Court and the Burger Court offered mixed records on the Second Amendment, the opinions from the Rehnquist Court (including from the Court's "liberals" Ginsburg and Stevens) are just as clear as were the opinions from the Supreme Court Justices of the nineteenth century: "the right of the people to keep and bear arms" is a right that belongs to individual American citizens. Although the boundaries of the Second Amendment have only partially been addressed by Supreme Court jurisprudence, the core of the *187 Second Amendment is clear: the Second Amendment--like the First, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Fourteenth Amendments--belongs to "the people", not the government.
http://www.davekopel.com/2A/LawRev/35finalpartone.htm

Luckily, I live in a State that spells it out even clearer:
Quote:
All persons are by nature free and independent, and have certain inherent and inalienable rights; among these are life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and the right to keep and bear arms for security or defense of self, family, home, and others, and for lawful common defense, hunting, recreational use, and all other lawful purposes, and such rights shall not be denied or infringed by the state or any subdivision thereof. To secure these rights, and the protection of property, governments are instituted among people, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
