Default Steven Colbert?

Wouldn't it be funny if he won.

He's not really going to run, but it would be... interesting.

I doubt, however, that there would be nearly enough people voting for him. Also, if he won America would become the laughing stock of the World Community, at least in my opinion. Not that it we would be the laughing stock for a particular reasons. Todays comedians were yesterdays Philosophers..

Yeah it would.
I saw him announce it on his show and I'm not quite understanding if he's really running or if it's some sort of joke. I will say though, he's got one heck of an outreach with his show. Ahhh, America, ain't it great

I thought the same thing when Ronald Reagan was running for President. He got elected and nobody laughed. He became one of the most popular Presidents of all time! (It's all theater anyway. Actors are good at that...)

If we can get away with electing a third-tier actor to the Oval Office, why not a first-tier comedian? Most politicians won't admit that they're lying through their teeth. Stephen Colbert has made a career out of presenting himself one way while holding the opposing positions inside.

Wouldn't it be fun to have someone in the White House with a sense of humor instead of an unconscious clown like Mr. Bush?

I guess, that's true... but he has literally no experience holding public office, where Regan at least had some, did he not?

Reagan became governor of the most populous state in the Union without any previous political experience. For the most part, getting elected is a popularity contest. Colbert has two hours of "infomercial" on the air every week. No other candidate comes close.
