do you ever notice that anything can happen during a dream? for instance i remember this one dream i had...while sleeping of course....i was jumping out of a helicopter sky diving...but my parachute wouldnt open when i pulled on the string...and just before i hit the ground i woke up...but the thing is..is that it felt so real..and i felt alive during the dream...describe some of your dreams (that you remember) that were like this...

Yes, it is quite common for any of what you described to happen during a dream.

Vividness, awareness, and/or ability to control yourself in a dream is called lucid dreaming.

The concept that anything can happen during a dream is due to the fact that a certain region of the brain (I forget the part, somewhere between the frontal and parietal cortex) that deals with processing and interpreting reality is not functioning during sleep.

Yeah, I also find it fun to think about this:

What if we are actually living in our dream, and whenever we go to sleep we get to experience reality?

Maybe actual reality dosn't follow any of the laws ours does. No phisics, no reletivity, no anything.

Maybe our entire "reality" is just a fabracated illusion created by our dreams in order to hold us over untill our next step into the real reality.

Heh, just fun to think about.

One time i had a dream where all the characters from cartoon network were in a gang and they cornered me in an alley. Then Freakazoid(the cartoon character) stepped up and started kicking my ass. Right when he punched me in the gut i woke up. It was wierd because my stomach really hurt for a minute afterward

lol thats pretty weird...i had a dream once where i was pissin in the toilet only to wake up and i soiled myself while sleeping haha.....another time i had a dream where i was having a spitting contest to see who could spit the farthest...and i spit (this is while sleeping mind you) from my couch to the door handle probably 7-8 feet give or take a few inches..then my stepmom woke me up to clean it off haha..

sometimes when i dream, i realize that i am asleep and that if i concentrate hard enough, i can control my dream. for example, sometimes i think up really hot chicks, bang the sh*t out of them, and when i feel like waking up, i slam my head on the ground or jump off a building or think up an alligator and stick my head in his mouth. basically anything that would kill me. anyone else have dreams like this?

Yes, it's called lucid dreams. Dream control specifically can be a very amazing thing.
Lucid dreams is when the vividness of dreams really comes alive. You can actually feel textures and surfaces in your dream. You can feel your own skin if you touch it, you can hear your own breathing. You'd be pretty amazed at how exact some things can be in real life and your dream world. My house is almost always perfect to a T in my dreams(except one time I was missing a roof...and a helicopter was lowering a rope ladder for people to escape

But anyways, your senses are amazing in lucid sleep. You fly, you can feel the wind. You punch someone you can feel it on your fist. You step out in the sun and you can feel it on your back

Dreams are one of the most overlooked things in our lives, and yet the most fascinating

yeah I have lucid dreams all the time latley, its actually been happening more the less I smoke weed. Ive also had some pretty crazy conversations like asking people Im talking to in a dream if I should even talk to them because Im only talking to myself.

I also had a pretty weird argument where I tried to convince a friend of mine in my dream that this was all a dream and everything he was saying was coming from my mind. But he wouldnt believe me and then I started mimicing the house music to prove that I was controlling it all, it was really freaky.

When I wake up I feel like I just came out of a crazy drug trip, like DMT, since it is actually a DMT trip.

Pretty cool stuff.

I have a lot of dreams with people I know in them but in weird situations usually in familiar places but not procured exactly how they are in real life. Everything is a little off. It's kind of cool though, they usually involve action like running from someone/something, trying to find something, one time I even became addicted to heroin which is weird cause I'd never touch that stuff. I can remember getting a crazy feeling when I'd shoot up in my dream but I don't even think I was doing it right.
