Default The meaning of death.

Everyone seams to wonder about the meaning of life, but, I have a darker, more powerfull mystery, the meaning of death. What is the meaning of death, is it a way to end our suffering, a new beginning, or or everything inbetween?
What are your theories about the meaning of death.

Thats a big question. And I recomend reading the book Seth SpeaksSeth Speaks .

From the book:
Quote:
What happens at the point of death? The question is much more easily asked than answered. Basically there is not any particular point of death in those terms, even in the case of a sudden accident. I will attempt to give you a practical answer to what you think of as this practical question, however. What the question really means to most people is this: What will happen when I am not alive in physical terms any longer? What will I feel? Will I still be myself? Will the emotions that propelled me in life continue to do so? Is there a heaven or a hell? Will I be greeted by gods or demons, enimies, or beloved ones? Most of all the question means: When I am dead, will I still be who I am now, and will I remeber those who are dear to me now?
I will answer the questions in those terms also, then: but before I do so, there are several seemingly impractical considerations concerning the nature of life and death, with which we must deal.

i think its just your time to go. i think you are given an opportunity to experience something wonderful, something terrible, something exciting, something dreadful, something overwhelming, and something frightenting--- all the same time, all at once. life is so inconceivably and intrinsically complicated.

i think death is what gives life its real meaning- think about it. if you couldnt die, life would be incredibly boring. no incentive to go out and make a name for yourself. no reason to go out and, well... LIVE. it is because we are going to die that we go out and search for something- money, fame, destiny.

just my stupid thoughts. the ramblings of an intoxicated drug addict...

I've always loved it, largely because it's different. Most references to death are so morbid and depressing. They treat death as a tragedy. I prefer to see it in terms of natural cycles, retiring last season's model to make room for a new one.

The other death song I like is Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper", for the same reasons.

i think that death is a tragedy to those who see death as a definitive end. no rebirth, no circle/cycle, just the end of the line (geometry/math term)

from a purely observational standpoint it seems death is the recycling/redistribution of matter. any discussion after that thought would become far too "religious" for me.

To have meaning it must first exist. It's my belief that life doesn't end and therefor life is all that exists... death is just a word describing a passage into a new reality (perhaps a "heaven", earth, or an elysium of some sort but that doesn't matter in this case). I could go on for multiple pages explaining why I believe what I do and what exactly my belief is but I'll stick to the question at hand here.

I never understood how people can fear the unknown more than anything else.

Death is your chance to give back everything you have taken from the Earth over the span of your life.

Your body for your life? Fair trade, I say.
