I doubt it will happen. Humans became the smartest through natural selection; true. We had the natural environment to produce a species of creatures that thrive on being clever. Most other animals lack this environment. Humans already got the upper hand, and are already selectively breeding other creatures. Do you think we breed sheep for their ability to plan and communicate? No, we breed them for wool. As for non-domesticated animals, they just don't have the environment for this sort of evolution. Humans are changing the world too quickly for that.

Everything else in nature may evolve and become 'smarter' in a way which I simply see as a better way for them adapt. There is no absolute way for an entire species to become smarter and evolve into talking, working creatures. There are many lab specimens that stand above the standard of their species but these are seperate, rare cases. Nothing will ever grow to be 'smarter' than the human being.

It kinda seemed like it because you asked what will happen when everything gets smarter and can talk?! And in parantheses you said that they will hahaha. So, according to our scientist here, everything will be able to talk given a certain amount of time.

We just so happened to be the first species to evolve to the mental capacity we have today. We have domesticated most all other species, so they will now be bread for the amount of tender meat on their bones, not for their survivability. We have seriously fucked up the natural survival of the fittest for all (or most all) other species. I doubt that we will let other species evolve. We see the world as ours, and that is one of the biggest flaws of the human race.
