| High- I've also given that thought. We do not know what nothing sounds like, feels like, tastes like, looks like, or smells like. So what do those people experience? It's crazy.

i was like, i know that but if you were born blind! and they said the same thing So i was like what if you have no eyes? They said you see blackness , but i was like no you wouldn't you would not know what that is and they were like well you just woulnd't see anything. I said what is that though? THey didn't know, but like all poeple who want to know it all, they just made stuff up to sound right. I think you see what your mind see's, like a dream all the time. That would be cool.

| yeah i guess i never thought about that...their would be "nothing" to "see" in the first place. For in a dark room or with eyes closed a seeing person expierences an absence of sight...while a blind person has no comprehension of this absence except in comparison to people who can see...probably why they can hear so much better and such...instead of that absence theirs an extension in the fields of perception they do have...plus i bet most blind people are alot nicer than most people...i mean come on when your blind you must feel more humble...anyway...interesting thoughts...

| and for the record boys and girls, the optic nerves are not the only nerves that send images to the brain.Just as you can see an object by feeling it,the blind can conjure images of colors with remarkable success. | I always thought (no pun intended) that we used only 10% of our brain also, Sigourney, until I just read that...interesting stuff! And I never really gave much thought to what blind people saw or didn't...that is amazing thinking about what blind people actually experience...I'll tell you 1 thing, though, I'd much rather be born blind than to have gone blind...that way you don't realize what you're missing. P.S. That makes twice, Cheeb! AAAARRRRRRGGGG...blew it![]() |

| It is so amusing how individuals will just assume that blind people just see blackness all the time. If that were true they could just as easily see a white light all the time. Because even though darkness is absence of light, you still need to have vision in order to see it. - TurbulentHigh EDIT: Although if you think about it, you can easily take a question like that for granted. Because when you close your eyes you see darkness. The human brain likes to take short cuts to simplify answers. Quote:
