Default Dreaming, and the lucid world

I have been making many attempts at reaching a state of lucidity in my dreams. For those of you who dont know, lucid dreaming is basically being self conscious that you are asleep, and dreaming. While "lucid" you may literally do anything that you desire. Something that I categorize as a branch of lucid dreaming is astral projection. This is basically an OBE (out of body experience) in which that you exit your body, and may travel through any desire-able plane of the dream world, and even physical world. I have achieved lucid dreaming ONCE, to my knowledge (you need to be familiar with dream recall to actually remember having a lucid dream, for you may not remember having one). Im curious to see how many of you have experienced with this amazing phenomenon. Please share tips as to gaining lucidity and such!

Ive been practicing Astral Projection and lucid dreaming for a very long time. It took me forever to get out of my body and i wanted to give up so many times, but the first feeling you get is completely worth it. I do find projecting from lucid dreaming is somewhat easier, however i prefer meditating.
The best strategy I use is the 'rolling out' technique which basically is this:
lay flat with no distractions, a pillow for your head and a pillow to keep your feet propped up
breath in 6 seconds, hold 6 seconds, exhale up to 6 seconds, wait 6 seconds and repeat.
then when you start feeling the vibrations and CEV's work on chakra fixation until you feel ready and then BAM roll out your body like you would waking up way early in the morning (like you do when you just jump up so you dont have the thought of just closing your eyes and going back to sleep)


as far as lucid dreaming, think before you sleep "everything im about to experience will be a dream", during your daily life, take notice of everyday things you'd normally ignore. Question a lot of reality and question whether your awake or asleep (even if the answer is evident). Also, keep a dream journal, record your dreams as SOON as you wake up (otherwise you'll tend to forget a lot of details, even if its 20 min after waking). Taking notice of things during your day expands your senses, and when you sleep if something isnt normal (such as a misplaced window or desk in your house), although your dreaming your conscious will stop you and be like hey, thats not right you must be dreaming and there you go your lucid in your dream. And constantly questioning your conciousness is helpful because you might just question if your dreaming when in reality you actually ARE, and as a test you decide to fly..there you go your off.

Id like to add for lucid dreaming flying is the easiest way to ever determine if your dreaming, in your dreams if you ever have that thought use that as a test right away otherwise you might 'forget' and lose your chance of going lucid

I find the easiest and most often way I have them is if I wake up an around an hour earlier than my usual "awake time" and stay awake for about 10-15 minutes and then go back to sleep.

Sleep paralysis; now that's freaky.

Cool, Im gonna try this roll out teqnuqie tonight. As far as lucid dreaming goes, Iv noticed something a bit odd. My father just passed away the other month ago, and Iv had dreams with him in it, as if it where an everyday event; yet out of these type dreams I havent been able to realize Im dreaming for some odd reason, and fail to reach the lucid state.

Im sorry about your dad man. But if these are occuring almost every night maybe you should concentrate on that idea, that your only seeing him while your dreaming..and think about that only at night minutes before you sleep.

Im giving really shitty advice but they've been the most effective for me.

i have a great book thats been widely credited as being extremely effective for Astral Projection. Its a 90 day program written by Robert Bruce (who is also known as being one of the greatest writers on the subject) so just pm me or something if you want it ill be more then happy to send it online for you

i have had a few of lucid dreams, all of which have been awesome *wink wink* and each time you just have to look for details, for example, just pinch yourself everyday at random moments, and then in your dream, whenever you see something out of place, try to convince yourself to pinch yourself, if it doesnt hurt, you are dreaming, thats how i did them anyways. bu the main problem is not attaining a lucid state, but MAINTAINING one, because you will slowly drift off into a normal dream again, hope i helped, it really is a very interesting subject, im just sad that ive been wasting them on such imature things like imagining a super hot girl and porking her haha
