My comment on ESP was about a quote from strange_blaze's post, not yours.

You are right, I don't give the mind much credit when it comes to subliminal messages.
Quote:
your brain registers that it just ain't correct
The key word here is registers, meaning that your brain has consciously noticed something in the ad. This means that whatever this thing is, it is big enough or bright enough to be perceived by the brain. This is not subliminal, because the word subliminal means below threshold. I have no doubt that this 'mistake' approach is a very effective advertising tool, but to call it a subliminal message contradicts the definition of the word. Hidden, yes. But not subliminal.

When someone comes up with a theory such as subliminal messages, It makes much more sense to assume that it is wrong until it is proven right, as opposed to assuming it is right until it is disproven.

i like this thread and think its iteresting whats all being said, ya know we only use a small percentage of our brain, imagine if we could use every millimeter of it to the fullest!? imagine what we could do, im sure if it had always been like that, that today tchnology and well, basicly everything might be different and more advanced , who knows, it would just be amazing though!

We actually use the majority of our brains, just not all at once.

The study (it's been posted here before somewhere) was taken when a person had to lay down in the MRI or CATscan and there really isn't much thinking when your laying in a tube.

Just thought I'd say that

I still believe this theory, just thought I'd add that too.

i see what u mean, im glad i know that we do use the majority of our brain, jst not at the same time, do u think ppl would be smarter if they used all of their brain at all times, but then again, i would think that didfferent parts of ur brain, are used for different things at different times, so if that is true like i think it is, then i guess mabe it doesnt really make sense to use all of our brain at one time?! then again, i dunno, anyone else have any feedback?

Using your brain burns calories which produces heat. I don't know for sure but I think If you used all of your brain at once for any significant amount of time the heat would build up faster than you could dissipate it. It would literally cook your brain just like a high fever does. Just an uneducated guess.

I think you all have valid pionts, we are not totally aware of the power we have in our brains. I have found that if we convince ourselves enough about something we will find it to be an event or a happening in our lives. If we live in fear we will have reason to fear, have you ever had a dealing with a school bully? I once had the dis-advantage of being hassled by a school bully. I convinced myself that he will find justice, just recently I found out that he had been involved in an argument with a colleage and was shot dead. I never wish him dead but in my mind he has received payment for his unjust actions as a youngster.

what goes around comes around. its like if u slang pot and u short ppl's bags its gonna come back to slap u in the ass. but if u slang and always try your best to be fair or even add more than needed for friends, than THOSE good actions will come back to u as well. u need to be honest with yourself, to be honest w others, and whem ur honest with others, it gets payed back in full! thats what i believe anyways

This is weird stuff. i have had some strange experiences with i dont know what to call it, seeing the future, or seeing the present.

My friend's mom's boyfriend, use to have large amounts of marijuana in the house all the time, since he was a live in boyfriend, we never wanted to ask him to buy bags. he moved out like 4 months ago. And we havent heard from him since. Well im sitting in my room stoned, just thinking about stuff, and i started thinking about this guy how cool it would be to buy bags. i havent given him one thought since he moved out. In school today my friend told me he stopped by, and said he'd sell us bags.

Back in my newbie days my friend rolled the fattest blunt of the best pot i have ever smoked, and me him and another kid smoked it then walked through this feild, it was really foggy out. And all of a sudden we all sort of saw our selves from a different point of view. after i had that thought. I said how weird it was then the kids both said they were thinking the exact same thing, then we all went on to talk about aliens.
