You know, lately, I've been able to "guess" alot of stuff right before it happens. I'm not the type of person who believes in psychics so my idea is that the mind sub-conciously works out patterns. Maybe just the way certain people act or speak.

If you think about it, it is very plausible. The mind finds patterns in things we conciously do not, thats how subliminal messaging works (obviously) and it could work on this level too.

Just like the way you can tell if a word is spelled right, even if you don't know how to spell it. Somewhere in your head you know, but you conciously don't

The way the mind works on a subconscious/conscious level has fascinated me for a while now. It is interesting the point you brought up about "knowing that a word isn't spelled right even if we don't know what the correct spelling is." Have you ever used a pendelum(sp?) and played with your subconscience? I've been trying that and seeing if it ends up to be true. They way you do it is, you get a little pendelum and hold the string it's attached to in your hand and ask it a question. i.e. Is my name (insert your name)? Then you drop the pendelum and look at the way it swings back and forth. This is your "yes" answer. Ask it a question your sure the answer is 'no' and see if it works. The way i think it works or is supposed to work is that on a subconscious level of your mind, you know all, everything, thus knowing all the answers to your questions and having your arm or wrist involuntarily swing the pendelum back and forth forming your "yes's" or "no's". Interesting to think about.

I have long thought of causality as truth. the notion that everything happens because of a cause and that everything is just a chain of events that are being acted out. if you were to look at like like that, your brain sensing patterns and seeing the next thing in the chain is not too far from beleivable.

ps, I tried that pendulum thing in the past, it is pretty weird, after you know what "yes" is and what "no" is in the pendulum swings.

you know its weird , people always post topics like this about things i have been experiencing over the past few weeks but just never think of putting it into a topic. it's like the same things are happening at the same time in different people (sounds like a slow, synchronized awakening of sorts)

anyway I've been gettin alot of this precog stuff lately, just slight examples where about 1-5 seconds before something happens on tv or really anywhere in real life i'll get a random thought in my head (it's mostly numbers, also note i am a very number orientated person - it could come in pictures or words etc for other people). The thought seems to come out of nowhere but it really doesn't feel unnatural at all. Sometimes ill get a thought and know that it's true and its about to be done in real life and other times i'll be like WTf? why did i just think of that word..then 1 second later someone says it.

But now my problem is that now i can't help but try and force guessing at whats about to happen so i end up with "misses" and only some "hits". I just gotta let it come to me.


ps. that causality chain theory is really fascinating.

I believe in psychics (to a point) and ESP and all that fun stuff, I also believe that every person has some level of 'psychic abilities', but just needs to be able to harness it.

Im very imaginative. I find logic so boring at times.

it's funny. the morning that i posted that i was brushing my teeth and i thought 'man its probly about time that i gotta go to the dentist again' so im gonna start flossing and brushing really well . Lo and behold 2 hours later, after i had posted, my mom comes in on the phone and says "it's the dental clinic on the phone, what's a good time for your dentist appointment?"

Im really starting to believe that some if not all of us (humans) are mentally evolving into christ consciousness.

i've had stuff like that happen to me but a bit different, it was more lke phychic stuff or ESP. once i was sitting with my best friend jade, we've been friends for 3 years, and stoner buddies for 2 years, in mid-session i got up to get a drink of coke, in the kitchen i'd be standing there looking at what drinks we had, and of all the drinks in the fridge, i get grape juice for jade, i go back into my room and she says, without lookin at me 'you got any grape juice?' then looks at me with a can of coke, and a glass of grape juice... wierd, other times when we are separate, i'll think that i want to call her and she calls, or i'll call her and she'll say that she was just thinking about calling me. i get this sometimes with my b/f chris, but mostly i get it with people that i smoke with alot, jade, chris, some of chris's closer friends, some of mine and jades closer friends, jades b/f tom and some others. it wierd ****, but very cool

I really have to disagree with almost everything that has been posted here.
Subliminal messages do not work. There is a cool thread about them somewhere, but they have never been proven. Your body has strict thresholds for interpreting stimuli; you either perceive something or you don't. Then if it is perceived, you can process it and maybe you will buy that can of Coke. But if the message is flashed to quickly or too quietly, then your body does not perceive it and you cannot attribute any increase in sales to the message. In this case any sale is purely coincidental. You may disagree but the fact remains that subliminal message have no evidence whatsoever.
Again, I'm sorry to bore you with logic but ESP is also another load of BS. There has never been a case of Extra Sensory Perception (I think thats what it stands for) that has been proven in a valid experiment.

Many 'psychics' claim that they can see an aura over the heads of people, for example. These people have been asked if they could still see this aura if the person was standing behind a wall slightly taller than them. All the psychics claim they could still see the aura, yet they all refuse to prove this claim in a properly executed and documented experiment.

You can believe whatever you want but if these things did exist they would be very easy to prove, and they have never been proven. Sorry for being such a pessimist.

You obviously don't give the mind much credit on subliminal messages.

They can work, take for example the "mistake" approach. Sometimes they add a little mistake to a picture, like an extra toe, or a incorrect shadow, and your brain registers that it just ain't correct, as such, it keeps the add in your mind.

They've never been disproven, doesn't mean they've never been proven. They've "proved" marijuana kill sperm cells, and "proved" that it is a gateway drug.

And my original post says I don't agree with ESP or "auras". It was just crediting the subconcious mind for how well it works, or something like that.

Sorry to bring logic?
