| So I kinda fucked up. My exam is tomorrow and I really don't think I'll have enough knowledge to even pass, but please, post some ways to help me study. I have literally all day to study. The topics are Psichoanalysis (freud and watson), logic, and Epistemology. |

| Dude, you should definately be able to do well on the test with just one day of studying, at least you know exactly what topics will be on the test and those don't seem too overwhelming. For my evening psychology class this past semester I'd been studying for a few hours the same day high, then took the tests high and I'm getting an A in the class which I would have never expected coming into it. The teacher just makes the class so interesting, and psychology/philosophy stuff is just fun to learn about stoned anyways imo. I find it even easier to really understand and get a good grasp on the stuff. |

| Study hard, don't get high until you are done studying. Getting high before hand will slow you down, getting high after will actual help solidify your learning. There is no magic trick to doing well, just study is my only advice |

| Good luck! Just keep studying, and try to take some breaks if you can. Sleep is very important for retaining knowledge so you'll actually remember more if you get some sleep for a few hours rather then spending that time studying. G'luck

| the psycho anaylists have no reason to be on a philosophy exam in my opinion. for logic, practice and learn the rules (modus ponens, tolens, hs, ds, etc) and equivelency (DeM, Transposition, etc.) Epistemology is simply the theories of knowledge, so become aware of how the respective philosopher thinks one learns a thing (Kant thinks we encounter the world in terms of space and time and these intuitions are sorted through the imagination into the categories. Hume thinks its all via experience. etc.) |

| It's hard to say how in depth the exam will be from your description, but since it'll be covering those three subjects in what is probably a normal length class, I can't imagine it will be too hard. If your campus library is still open, I suggest going there and seeing if they have "Does the Center Hold?" by Donald Palmer. It will provide a good introduction to logic and epistemology. Also, when in doubt about epistemology, fall back on the epistemic scale, as it's the basis for a lot of epistemology. You can look around the web for other resources- my philosophy classes' resources were good enough on their own, so I don't know a good online lesson. As far as logic goes, yes, know the basics of logic outlined by 1waystreet at the very least. I can't imagine there being a test on logic that WOULDN'T cover them. A good place to use as a crash course can be found here. It has some exercises in addition to the lessons, plus the lessons themselves also include questions you answer. The separate exercises allow you to see the answer for the odd number questions, although honestly the questions in the lesson will probably be more helpful. (I skipped logic class, so this is how I learned) And psychoanalysis certainly has a place in a philosophy course- almost every topic does, because all are driven at their root by philosophy. That's why you get a Ph.D. in something. It's a doctorate of philosophy. Psychoanalysis logically fits in with a course on logic and epistemology, since so much of psychoanalysis is based on what we know, what we think we know, the reasonability of our belief in that knowledge, and how we work out the consequences of the knowledge we believe we have logically (or perhaps illogically). For a pretty decent info, plus a quick and dirty glossary of terms, check out this site. Luckily, most philosophy classes focus on short essay and essay questions, so there's a lot of wiggle room, plus they things they're teaching you in those classes general lean more towards skill based than factual based; that is, while they might be teaching it through particular facts, they're actually teaching you to analyze those facts. As long as you've been going to class, you shouldn't have too much trouble with that. The great thing about philosophy is that even if you don't KNOW they answer to the question, you are usually taught the skills to work out a logical answer with even just a little background. Good luck, don't fret.
