Someone explain Sartre's theory (radical freedom)

Someone plz explain it very simply. I'm supposed to get it off this text book but i cannot understand a word of it.

Welcome to philosophy.

Just sit down and go at it sentence by sentence, it shouldn't be too hard. If it's a school text book, they make philosophy generally easy to digest..... I'm not fully aware of Sartre, but I am a fan of what I have read.... I did a little google searching (which you should do

) and came up with this, but I don't know if it helps, maybe someone might be able to chime in later;

To avoid the paradox of freedom Sartre refers to freedom as the "condition of human existence" rather than a "characteristic of human nature", without this clarification we would become slaves of the concept of freedom thus making us no longer free

Was it Sartre or Rousseau that came up with the idea of the "Noble Savage"?
I've tried to live that one out, but gave up when I found that I had no place to plug in my Guitar.

Definetly not Sartre, I'm pretty sure it would have been Rousseau but couldn't tell you exactly where from though. Sounds like it would have been used to describe man in a 'state of nature'.

Freedom is a condition of human existence because we are literally free to make choices -- for ourselves, and for each other. It's a paradox because freedom is an illusion; choice is confined to a set of actions and consequences within an institution. However, whether or not the reactions (consequences) of these actions (choices) do exist in reality, is yet another fallacy of man, determined by it's labeled substantial value in society.
