| I dont feel that Ive ever experienced love. Im only 17 though. All the girls I had crushes on and thought I "loved" really only turned out to be girls that I wanted to have sex with really really bad. Its tricked me too many times. Its just out there to get me to reproduce. |

And because I know this is also true, that's why the first quote was so funny.* *Sometimes my girlfriend reads this site, and that was to keep me from getting 'ed. (Just kidding, schmoopie!)

| Love. Ah, what a tricky subject. You cannot love something that cannot love you back. Someone said they love their guitar, when in fact they don't really love their guitar, but they really like it. You can love an animal, because it can return "love" back to you: a lick on the face, sitting next to you in bed, etc. You can "love" your guitar because the music that you make from it makes others feel good, and if that is what love is for you then that is the only way I can see that loving an inanimate object can return love, through others that have the ability to love. A man always says "I think" while a woman always says "I feel." Our "views" on love can change based on society, but love is a feeling, and you can't dismiss it. It's just something you have to "feel" in order to "know." There's no "thinking" involved in love, it just happens.

| I agree. Using any word other than 'love' to describe how I feel about my guitar(s) is an understatement. I don't love it in the same way that I love my mother, but I still insist on using the word love for my geetars. Especially ol' Washy. Although this quote contradicts what I just said, I'll throw it out anyway. It used to be on my fridge: "If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, it's yours. If it doesn't, it never was."

| Well then, to get technical with it, any English teacher will tell you that you cannot LOVE an object like a guitar, you can LIKE an object like a guitar though. Love is not something that makes you feel good, it's making yourself feel good by seeing others feel good. That's like saying I love cake, because cake makes me feel good when I eat it. I may love to cook food, but it's not used in the right context. I should say I like to cook, it's my passion, and I love the feeling I get when others eat a meal I prepare, seeing them happy. |

| i think its okay to say you love things that aren't alive. i can say i love getting kids meals from taco bell, because they make me very happy. but in no way is it the same love that i have for my parents, family, boyfriend. it still is love tho. because taco bell sure does bring me a lot of happiness. but... what happens when u lose that person u love so much? how bad does it really suck... sometimes i worry all day about this sort of thing, and its no fun ![]() |
