Make sure you have the media RIGHT THERE...cause American Cops just have no sense of humor

I'm thinking maybe go to a concert and dress like Harpo Marx --- wear a long trenchcoat -- and start pulling things out of your "pockets"...like a full grown silk Pot Plant... a huge fake cigar... etc.

By the way, in Horse Feathers there is a great scene where harpo is forced to "smoke rope"... those Marx brothers, they just crack me up

Hugz,

I don't think games like that will get marijuana legalized by itself. It could be a way to get some media attention though. There has been a sort of new concept (it could be old already) of flash mobs getting some media-attention over here and in the UK. See eg http://flashmob.co.uk/

A concept like this could be used to get some attention for the prohibition of Cannabis. With a carefully written script, like people gathering at 13.43 dressed like Harpo Max or in business suits in a very public place (Congress/Wall Street/etc) and all lighting fake joints at 13.44 (eg tobacco filled) If the cops intercept communications (like they wouldn't ) there is no illegal activity, at the same it can get some TV airtime. The more ridiculous the better probably.

In Amsterdam a mob of +/- 30 people gathered at a supermarket and started photograping and cheering people leaving the supermarket as if they were supermodels. If you can get people interested in participating in something like that why not add the good cause of exposing the absurdity of marijuana prohibition to it?

On the other hand there is aways a risk only 3 people show up, with 200 cops and 10 TV crews waiting that might look a bit silly

Just 2 cts.

I hadn't heard of the "Afrikaanse Druk Stoor" before. This seams to have been a marijuana-outlet that opened in 1963. A google search only gives Teun Voeten as a source. The "Mellow Yellow", which opened in 1972 is generally regarded as the first Dutch coffeeshop
I noticed another shop claiming to be the first: Sarasani in Utrecht claims to have started in 1968:

PRESS RELEASE
Utrecht, 13 November 2003

35th Anniversary of the Oldest Coffee Shop in the Netherlands

This year the Netherlands' (and probably the world's) oldest coffee shop, celebrates its 35th anniversary. The coffee shop Sarasani went through a turbulent initial period when it was established in 1968. Starting as a youth meeting place situated on the Oude Gracht, one of the canals in Utrecht, it traded of a concert platform and its sale of soft drugs. The authorities were far from ready to condone the use and selling of marijuana. Heated discussions in the media and local politics resulted on several occasions Sarasani being raided by the police. The owner at the time, Holly Hasenbos, an advocate of the legislation of soft drugs, found himself many times in jail, often alongside some of his clientele. source/more

I think animals do have a sense of good or evil and what it is, but i think that the will of survival is a much bigger priority.

I personally believe as long as it doesn't become such a commercially regulated product, like tobacco, or alcohol, it could be a success, But when large corporations get involved, and monopolize the market, it really could go downhill quickly.
One of the downfalls of capitalism. However "Ma and Pa" cannabis farms are possible considering its ability to endure a variety of weather climates and flourishes powerfully in many, so a monopoly might not be imminent.

Shisha / Nargilah / Hookah bars (usually flavored, tobacco "coals" smoked in a hookah), common in the middle east might make a bigger impact on the far western world and create a lot of new jobs, if it is equal in popularity with Coffeeshops or more mid-eastern style smoking cafes/lounges, like the nargilah bars / cafes.

also i think that growing tobacco is a great idea, then you would feel like you've accomplished something and not have to worry about all the chemicals that the retailers put in cigarettes.
but ya know they sell 100% tobocco as well, i think it's a french brand, whatever it's called, i've tried it before, really good.

i'd buy that over dunhill international, and they're cheaper than those, but i don't know about you, all i'm sayin is i think growin your own tobacco would be a great idea.

i don't know which is harder to grow, marijuana or tobacco?
There also is far less binge drinking in European countries, especially among teenagers. I went from K-11 in Antwerp, Belgium. The American culture is different a lot of ways, which is why I think people would handle the whole "marijuana situation" differently here in the US.
