| This has nothin to do with marijuana but it is still about my thoughts ... so i figure it should be good. Friday night i had nothin to do so i figured that i would indulge in a certain off topic ... and i got to thinkin about life and death ... and i came to the conclusion that life is a game that we play, but we do not realize we are playing it. The whole idea is to solve the mystery of how we got here, how are spiecis came to be. And each life that we live is another step to winning because each time we are reborn after we die we have more technology then the last life .. wich makes it easier for us to solve the mystery. and when we win ... we solve the mystery .. the whole species goes onto to a new challenge .. a new and improved world. what to ppl think of that theory? P.s - This may be way out there and it also makes no sence at all .. but it is extremly hard to explain!!

| IMO- Looks like you were teetering on the brink of an epiphany. Perhaps the mishmash of hinduism and christianity(ie, rebirth and a new world) and other spiritual/religious precepts in your brain stood as a roadblock in your path to total conciousness. I think the way you have explained life is to boxed in and short sited and it is not really that easy. I dont believe technology plays a vital role in our own self discovery, although it does add insight. Also your explanation seems to be on a technological/societal level based on our technological advancement, which I have to disagree with. The biggest advancement we can make as a society is becoming a peaceful one. More than technology is needed for this, we need self understanding and each individual to understand their own role in this chaotic world. I think an appreciation for the life you and others are living in the present is the best stepping stone for each member in our society to win this "game". Once again this is all in my opinion. |

| Humans have not advanced much from the early caveman. We are still trying to survive. Now we have just complicated things with the stock market and computers. Still, life is the same. Your born. You eat. You reproduce. You eat again. You die. |

| Good point SkinnyP. I would agree, we aren't much different from the earliest ancestors. We are born, we are raised an nurtured, we grow up and fend for ourselves, and eventually we do. Meanwhile we experience a full range of emotions and circumstances that shape our views and perspectives. Love is all we really need, but we aren't anywhere near that mentality. Self-discovery isn't for everyone, it's much easier to take the "easy" way out I guess.

| I can see what you're getting at, Troubled Mind. But I don't think we have multiple lives, I believe we only have one chance to try and figure out or play this 'game' as you referred to it. If we do get reborn after death as some other life form, then it's really not us because we have no knowledge of our previous life. Or at least I don't remember mine. ![]()

| Consider the big picture. Starting with what we have most recently, in the concept of time itself, most recently, call the Big Bang theory. We , the human race, have been trying to understand the beginning of the Universe and all of the events which led upto that beginning. Then we try to understand each event which occured from that beginning to this point in its evolution. Then we try to understand what in the course of the events to come will shape its future. All the time trying to understand our part in all of this existance. Do we understand that since the Big Bang all of The Universe comes from the materials, which was at some point, of one, that which created the event itself, including ourselves. We are part of that original material that so many billions of years ago made up The Universe before that event(The Big Bang). We are therefore, The Universe trying to understand itself. |

| I have a weird feeling that we have more attempts at this "game," or whatever you want to call it. As a child, much younger than I am now, I always debated this. I had this feeling that I would somehow always exist. It's odd because I thought this before I was old enough to understand the philisophical aspect of life, and it just seems right. It is so hard to explain to others, but it goes along the lines of the rule of Conservation of Energy, where Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. Rather, my existence will live on through other things. As a child I felt it would be another human, but with the population rising, the notion could not be true. What if there is a balance between all organisms in this world? Basically, what I am saying, is add up everything alive (which is impossible) at any given point in time, and the number will always be consistent. It is far fetched, I know, but we tend to live by some basic principles: what goes up comes down, the rule of conservation of energy, and possibly this? I mean, you look at human evolution, and acquired knowledge throughout time. For instance, basic reactions we have acquired, such as pulling away from a hot stove. I don't believe these things we take for granted could be passed down merely by genetics. Could it possibly be subconcious knowledge from our previous lives, or states? It is complex and far fetched, I know. I can't even begin to explain the extent of my thoughts, but it is how I have felt since I was young. How could a naive 6 year old contemplate such a concept without prior knowledge of philosophy, and furthermore, reincarnation? |

| I believe in the concept of our existance going on forever. I worry about if I am ready for that change, I mean the big change to what is unknown to us all. Fear. I allways have been the traveling stranger, allways lost in my own surroundings. I think I also sail away from the safe harbour but I never see the answer and the further I travel the deeper becomes my fear. After all my exploration and dreaming, my discovery is that I know less than any time before in life. Exp. Today I made my Travel reservations to Amsterdam for the day after tommorrow. I dont know where I will stay but I have 11 days to find my way. I'm actually freightened of the expierence and I dont know why. My search is never ending and tremendously anxious in nature. The alternative is to be complacent with where I am and that may be even more freightening to me. Its like the thought of having 10 or 20 years go by without realizing it happened. If, and I only have some overwhelming sense of this, we have all of these expierences but they have no meaning, why do we continue. I have come to some logical conclusion that if we are without purpose or meaning then it makes no difference if we go on or not, I'll go on. Then someday I'll stop. No difference. |
