| I don't think the human race wil die out (barring a massive meteor strike or someithing of 'biblical' proportions). Even if there is a major enviromental disaster or nuclear war I don't think that would be enough to kill every-single-person. |

| Even if the sun doesn't turn into a black hole, it will still enlarge itself enough so that the orbiting planets will be taken in by its gravity. The earth will be taken by its gravity and we will all die right? The sun isn't going to last forever.

| Yeah I forgot about that. Before a star burns out it expands to several dozen times its size, which in the case of the sun will likely be enough to wipe away the earth. But that probably won't happen for a few million years.

| The original question posted was, "how will we die?". I don't know. I don't even know how I'll die. Its interesting to me that the question was phrased with the word we in it, making it a question of not an individual, but of society. What I mean by that is: to answer the question of "how will we (the human race) die?" it needs to be preceived on the macro level of knowing. For instance, one could say US citizens don't vote because they are lazy, but that is looking at the problem from the micro, or individual level. The problem with an individualistic answer is that even though it may be true, it doesn't hold solve the question. Furthermore, hard facts show that other countries have great voter turnout, so my next question would be why is the US so concentrated with lazy people? However, since that doesn't seem to be the case in the US, we must look at the voting problem on the macro level. The macro level--or the sociological perceptive--might look at the structure of the political system, the values that society sets for elections and the what not, so hopefully you get my drift about the macro level. I suggest we all not wonder about how we will die, be it war, or disease, or massive drowning, or who knows what, but rather we question why we will die. Perhaps it will be because we elected corupt politicians, or didn't require enough pre-kindergarten vaccinations, or because the Army Corr. of Engineers diverted the mississippi river to deposit sediment in the deep ocean, rather then near the coast, or who knows why.... Lets not worry about how, lets think about why, at the sociological level, the human race would be erased from the earth, so we can, if not prevent extinction, better understand ourselves, our close ones, and our species. Something I think is interesting to think about is that humans weren't the first creatures on the earth, not even the first terestrial creature....and we certainly won't be the last to enjoy the water planet. We already know of many insects and bacteria that have the ability to live in conditions that no human could ever survive, so why would we think we would be the last to go? |

![]() I have heard theories about atlantis' fall. It had to do with irresponsible use of power. Their irresponsibility was the cause of theri demise. I feel it will be the cause of our demise as well. I just hope that we don't take everything else with us. Either that or the tabloids are right at some point and armageddon happens proving once and for all divinity in the universe. Life, what's the point anyway?

| For all of humanity to be wiped out it would require some sort of global calamity. A metor or impact being most likely. We are a highly adaptable speices. Over Population, nuclear war or even viruses are unlikely to kill all of us. Any small isolated population would be able to continue. I firmly believe that we have a good future a head of us.....most of the world agrees about waht our problems are, it is only a matter of implimenting solutions. That takes time. We have come so far, and done so much, lets not throw it away by blinding ourselves with pesimism. |
