Weed, Weeds, and Wildflowers

Weed is the philosopher’s stone
Weed and weeds are the philosopher’s stone
Weed, weeds, and wildflowers are the philosopher’s stone
not a stepping stone through
row after row or row, row, row
Weed is the philosopher’s stone
Weed, weeds, and wildflowers are the philosopher’s stone
not planted, not transplanted, not implanted
not planned as product
Weed, weeds, and wildflowers
growing up in all the right places
scattering their best laid plans
opening up the land
blowing out your mind
clearing out the places
where there should be open spaces
growing in these places
Weed, weeds, and wildflowers
Weed, wild seeds
rising up between the cracks
blowing out your mind

Weed is the philosopher’s stone
but it’s not a grind, and
it’s off the grid, but
full of grins, group grins
group grins are not a sin
amongst the wildflowers
It’s the grin that grinds the philosopher’s stone
and leads to places in open spaces … where
weed, weeds, and wildflowers
bloom
