A few days ago, one of my friends scored some Pine Bud, and we headed over to another friend's basement to smoke it. Well, after three bowls, I decided I was done and laid down on his couch. As I was laying there, my thoughts attempted to align themselves in a sensible pattern as I watched the trippy show behind my eyelids, and this was the outcome:

"What if, instead of life being a dream, every single time we dream, we are actually living another individual life, and when we wake up, we die in that life. So throughout our life, we actually die multiple times."

Don't worry, I wrote it down.

I was thinking that maybe it could be a way for our minds to cope with death, that way when we're older, we can accept and not fear death. Last thing you need on your death bed is a crap load of stress and worry

Plausible and I wish we could test it out somehow. Like test a person who knows what death is, and one who has never heard the word. Although recording a dream would be rather hard. I am sure if humans last long enough someone will invent it.

It's not somebody else's dream. This is your consciousness. You still exist. It's just that we may be figments of your dream, or maybe you're a figment of my dream (for all I know).

I posted a thread about a similar thought...or rather the same thought with further branches. It didn't receive many replies so it might be hard to find...but IMO it's worth a read if you're thinking about this.

Well i'm not sure about you guys, but when i fall asleep at night, even when high i cannot remember my dreams in the morning. I've taken some time and curiosity while high and found out that i actually fall into a deep REM sleep where your brain releases chemicals called DMT that protect you from remembering what you dreamed about the night before because the dreams are beyond the grasp of human reality.
