| Stoned epiphanies follow Sturgeon's Law: 90% of everything is crap. But I voted "Yes". Marijuana is certainly a traditional sacrament in certain Hindu sects and many religions of various vintages. It makes as much sense as a sip of wine and a cracker. More, actually, to me, but I'm not a Christian.

| I'm sure I've had a few. Just can't remember any of them.

| Many times when I'm stoned, math will find its way into my thoughts or conversation and I can't help but find some paper and a pen[cil] then try to figure it out. Math and art just come more naturally to me than most people I know. I once tutored a friend when they couldn't figure out their calculus homework. (I've never taken calculus and still don't understand it) |

| I don't know if you've looked into many works of philosophy, but many of your seeds of thought have fallen from very well-developed trees. I'd recommend reading up on Plato's Republic, Aristotle's Nicomachaean Ethics, Hobbes' Leviathan, and Hegel's The Philosophy of History for starters. I don't mean to condescend or anything, I'm just saying that people have been thinking about these ideas for a very long time, and some of them were very smart. Also, as for one of my few "stoned epiphanies," one time I was really stoned and I realized that it was making it so I could only focus on the present. It got me to thinking; "weed is one of the few ways that it's even possible to live in the present, since it dulls the perceptions of the past and the future and reduces one's cares about them!" I've always found the present interesting. I, personally, don't think that the present exists, since one does not react immediately to it and must consider it in context with the past, and by the time we've recognized it, it's the past, not the present at all. I could go on rambling but it would all be basically that same point. |

| burnham as i read thru your story i found many connections. ive only been smoking a year, but i can tell the differences of a high now and when i just started. its deeper, and i can do more self-reflection (usually if i have time to myself) and find what is really right and wrong. ive made decisions in the past year that i believe are right and i feel the lifestyle im living now is better than the materialistic lifestyle my parents gave me as a child. you really dont need much to live a happy life.. and i would rather spend a day off hiking mountains than sitting around on a computer. i have noticed, like you mentioned, that smoking with others is way different than smoking alone..and thats because when im alone i get to just think about myself. reminds me of a quote thats up on my wall... "when you smoke the herb it reveals you to yourself..." - bob marley

UGH... I know what I want to say, but can't find the words to say it! Very frustrating! I have this whole idea about peace and love shining at the core of religion, but all it looks like I'm saying is "Muslims should smoke a bowl and chill the fuck out". (While that might be true to some extent, that's not exactly what I'm saying) I guess in a nutshell, I'm saying that if cannabis was used by all the people who began each religion, peace, love, and tolerance would be the main tenants of all of the major religions that survived. Of course, that's just my theory, and it was very poorly explained, sorry.
