| there is little truth in pain. Pain just a fact. It is just a blip on our internal sensors. There is a much truth in pleasure as there is in pain, my friend. It's an incitement to act, and nothing more. How we respond to pain reveals the truth. Some will think us brave for enduring pain. Some will think us wise for avoiding pain. Anyway, in perserving or not, that's where the truth is... not with the pain it self. And to tell you the truth, I've accomplished more while high than when I was in pain... so there you have it. Pain, even psychic pain, is just information... what's true or not is a decision you have to make on contemplation. |

| I didn't quite get your post Lil', could you tell me why you are talking about pain? All we have talked about is time, music, silence, and the like... Anyways, I disagree with this: Quote:
By experiencing pain and pleasure you can then have an 'objective' view of things. After having those experiences, you can be able to understand (this is called empathy) what other people are going through / thinking and then we can better guide our actions, because we can determine more about the outcome of events. | I'm sorry, 7leafs, I was not following the discussion. I just snagged a line off post #1 and ran with it. Hobbled actually. Anyway. It's a little artifact of puritan guilt and shame that somehow we have to hurt to learn. It's "el toro poo poo" in my opinion. Zall I was tryin to say, pard. ![]() |
