| Now don't get me wrong, I think life is great, even more so since I started smoking, but... For most people life is a lot of hard work (at least socially and financially), I will welcome eternal rest when I am (hopefully) presented with it. I was just thinking, 'is the reason why life is considered so special, and so celebrated, merely due to the rarity of it?' When you consider the odds stacked against life; our planet is the only one we know of to contain it, the millions of sperm fighting for a chance at it, and the fragility of our bodies. Perhaps we love it only because of its rarity. Gold, diamonds and other precious stones are precious due to their scarceness, yet are really just interesting-looking rocks. So while I look forward to knowing whether an afterlife exists or not, I don't mind either way, because life is hard, but it's special. JJBongalong. |
